Release Jon Hammer
Why Americans and Europeans are afraid to go to Mexico?

A good example is when American Marine Jon Hammer is arrested and held for carrying an antique shotgun in the trunk of his car after he declared he had it. He was imprisoned and has been beaten and likely raped by the gangs that control the prison.

In the last year,I know one family that had their SUV & all luggage & money stolen at gunpoint. I know another person that was mugged along with a group of friends at a beach resort that was supposed to be safe. I know another person that had their car shot at as they were driving away to escape highway bandits. The rear window was hit and they were lucky they were not murdered.

My Mexican customers do not even ask me to travel to Mexico anymore. They warn of the dangers of travel in their country. When I do go there, I do not recognize it anymore. It is clear, the government is really not in control of security.

I used to have pride in my Mexican heritage. Mexicans were known for their strong Christian values and work ethic. I am not proud of my heritage anymore. Mexico is not safe. I would rank it the same as Venezuela, Syria, Iran, & Somalia in terms of dangerous places to avoid.

Justice For U.S. Marine Jon Hammar
I am asking that President Obama pressure the Mexican government to release immediately former marine Jon Hammar. This is a travesty of justice for a young man who honorably served our country, did NOTHING illegal and was arrested for declaring a rifle at the border. This rifle was not even on the Mexicans list of restricted firearms.

This situation cannot be allowed to continue, and is just another example of the total lack of respect for law and human rights in Mexico!

This young man's family is being blackmailed by prison officials and inmates!

Justice and Freedom for U.S. Marine Jon Hammar, NOW!
