Rejected visa application
My daughter-in-law, a Philippine national married my son (a British national) 10 years ago and since then they have co-habited in Luxembourg. In May 2015 she applied for a travel visa for a travel to the UK with her husband and 8-year old daughter to visit her husband's brother and for a 2-week family holiday. Despite having been given visas for two previous visits to the UK the present visa was refused because "she did not demonstrate her status in Luxembourg" (she had supplied her Luxembourg titre de sejour) and because "she did not demonstrate her financial resources for the visit" Her husband, with whom she would be travelling, had supplied a statement from his Luxembourg employers as to his salary. I believe that this refusal was completely unjustified.

Application for Work Visa – UK
My name is Shah Abbas and I am currently living in Renne, Bretagne (France). I would like to apply for a work visa in the UK. I have been living in France since 16/3/2013 and unfortunately have remained jobless during this period due to the fact that I do not understand French.

Before coming to France, I was in Afghanistan serving as a translator/interpreter with the British Security Forces during the period 2007 – 2010 in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. Once my job came to an end with the British Forces, I started working as an English Language translator/interpreter with French Security Forces for 14 months in Kapisa Province of Afghanistan.

Following the withdrawal of French Security forces from Kapisa, I was taken to France as partly as gratitude to my service for France and also due to my personal security taking into account the work I had been undertaking in Afghanistan since 2007.

I would like to apply for a British work visa as I know English and therefore, wouldn’t have a problem communicating.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
