Comments on this Honorary Consulate
The Faroes Islands grindadráp is the largest single slaughter of marine mammals in Europe. A total of 490 pilot whales have been slaughtered since June 2015 alone.
Entire pods of dolphins and pilot whales are brutally and senselessly hacked to death in the Faroe Islands. Like the infamous drive hunts in Taiji, Japan, the grind is a blood-red stain on these otherwise pristine waters.
International volunteers aiming to stop this massacre are arrested, mistreated and deported - all with the help of the Danish authorities.
I urge you to use your influence at every possible opportunity to stop this horrific "tradition".
