Does J1 visa allow me to enter Canada
I am a Tunisian citezen, I came to the US as a Fulbright visiting Scholar. I have the J1 visa and I wonder if I can use this type of visa to enter to canada as a tourist?

So is it possible to show the J1 visa at the customers office in Canada to let me in for couple of days ?

Thank you

Philadelphia Consulate
idiocy I expect from America, but not from Canada.

Because I am planning a trip to Montreal, I thought I would go to the Consulate in Philadelphia (where I live) and get some information, perhaps a map of the city, perhaps a list of hotels near the Loyola campus of Concordia University where my Paris-residing grand niece will be attending in September and the reason for my visit (to see her and her mother), and, who knows, some other goodies that Consulates may offer the first-time visitor

But, No. It seems that there ain't not no Consulate in the building. And, it is necessary to call New York AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!! And, I assume, someone will come down from New York and THEN it becomes a Consulate. I can just imagine the kind of reaction I would get if I decide to call New York for an appointment just to pick up some literature. But, is certainly is tempting.

It would be far better NOT to have a so-called Consulate in this city, and, obviously, not pay any rent in a a major sky-scrapper.
