Terrible experience dealing with British Consulate General New York
They are very rude, snobby, and condescending. Do not ever give them your original documents and never succumb to the scam of paying more for expedited service. Simple visas are delayed for months. Lord help you if you are a minority or have an middle-eastern name. When you complain they accidentally lose your passport! At first, I though my case was unique but after researching online, it seems to be very common. You have no recourse to speaking with an actual person and they simply stop replying to your emails when they wish. There was one direct number that I was able to get, Nile O'Neal 212 745 0209, but he is quite duplicitous and not very helpful. Sadly, most people simply accept this ill treatment since they really need the visa for study. But, I hope more people speak out about their experience and work to change the attitude of those who work there.

Visas for my mother
I applied for visas for my mother. Ref # GWF032143983. It is now almost 6 weeks and we have not yet received anything. I contacted the Visa service and they emailed me yesterday stating my mother's documents are being reviewed by the Brithis Consulate. Please can you look into this matter as my mother really needs to travel to the UK by the end of August/ 1st week of September to help my sister who is undergoing surgery. She is a British Citizen.

Studies In British Commonwealth
Hello,
I am a student here in the United States. I am also an heir. I am interested in obtaining my education, as I have an inheritance that requires that I go to school and master certain arts. I find the pursuit of my educational goals to be abnormally resistant and according to my cache, this is a trend that has been occurring here in the United States with African American students over the past 46 years. I unfortunately have been victimized by this and am seeking to study overseas so my academic career isnt destroyed altogether by this things we are dealing with in the United States. Can a p for asylum under such auspices with a British Embassy?
Kindest Regards
Student

Inexcusable behaviour of a customs official at JFK
Dear General,
On Saturday 26th July 2014.approx.1930hrs. I was returning to London after a wonderful week at Martha's Vineyard, as I approached the security cubicle and not thinking, still in holiday mode, walk through through the cubicle as we generally do in England.
An African American approached me and shouted are you sleep walking, can't you read. His tone of voice had me in shock, I tried to explain my mistake but this fellow kept shouting at me,to get back and read the instruction, the embarrassment was overwhelming, especially as other travellers and his colleagues stood their in amazement.
It felt as if I was in a concentration camp or prison. I am 65 yrs old and never experienced such a failure in customer service.
This African American was of a light complexion, about 5ft 4 ins. Wearing a dark blue shirt.
I got so confused with his rudeness and in my attempt to do the right thing, forgot to hand in my wallet and phone, that give him another excuse to bully me.
After clearing security I enquirer as to whom can I make a complain. A White American lady, approx 5ft tall a little stocky in built, wearing a white shirt approached me and said I should be on my way because she found me to be rude her staff.
At that point I almost lost all control of what was left of my dignity. But chose to walk away and find another way to make my complaint.
My plea to you, maybe you can view the tape of this incident or enquirer as to why I was burden with such poor customer service. Certainly these two people cannot be a reflexion of all our custom officers, who thrived daily to do a difficult job.
Yours respectfully,
Mr AM Theodore.

A bunch of idiots
Go to the British Consulate general New york Facebook page, it will not take long before you discover what kind of party animals these idiots are, they seem to have nothing else but partying around and messing with people's lives, big disgrace and a shame on the UK government!
I've looked at other facebook pages of UK embassies in other cities and countries, none is even close to these totally incompetent animals, I really don't know who has even given them a job there! the whole thing should be closed down!
