Extending an UK Passport
I am a UK citizen and passport holder working and living in the USA on a L1 visa. My passport expires 14th November 2014 and am a regular traveller. A 6/8 week time period to obtain a new passport from the UK would prevent my impending travels. How can I get an extension to my existing passport for the interim.

First Time Passport
Hi! My mother is British, but has been living in the USA for much of her life. When my four older brothers were born, my mother registered them with the British embassy and one of them has since gone on to receive his British passport. My mother, however, did not register me with the embassy. My question then is thus, what do I need to get my British passport. Do I need to prove that I am my mother's child and then prove that my mother is a British citizen?
