Day Light Robbery
What a torture trying to visit UK for non-EU people..

How untouchable UK Consulate/ Embassy is! Shame of you.

What a day Light Robbery to get in touch with the embassy! Even a phone call cost you arm and a leg..

Why people are getting punishment to visit this country as a tourist when they are going to contribute to the economy?

Why are you so different from other countries?

Honestly if you understand all these issies let me know.

Hello,

after reading some of the comments here, I am able to give you all a little Informatiom.

It is possible at least for some to pay for the new Passports in cash - You have to make an appointment in your Consulate (I live in Munich and so it was not soooooo much trouble for me, just took almost two months to get the information!)

I am personally appauled bei the price of Passports for us living abroad especially when the price for us has recently gone up and on the 3rd September 2012 for the Britisch living in the UK the price has gone down!

The fact that when I asked that the Passport Renewal Application Form to be sent to me per Post (My Printer persently will not print in Black - dark Blue is not accepted!), I was told I had to pay for it, made me speechless.

For the Britisch in the UK they can track what stage there Passport Application is at on the Internet - for us living abroad (I have just paid the 27 € courier fee) we are not able to track the stage of where our applications are at. Why? Of course we can call the Hotline, but that costs (at the moment in Germany) 1,75 € a minute.

Altough there are a great deal of people with Internet Access there are many people without it! How will it be for those people as from next year where everything concerning Britisch Passports in England will be done?

When I pay over 500 Englische Pfund Tax yearly (even though I have not lived in England for 20 years) I expect something for it!

Home office London
I have found this e-mail address for the Home office London:-

public.enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

maybe your complaints will be answered?
The Home Office in London should read all these internet complaints about applying for a passport etc.It is really embarrassing that highly paid professionals can't get their act in order. When it comes to Europe England has always wanted to be isolated. They are falling behind. It is true a german person living here can get an ID card and passport from their town hall within approx 10 days for both.Make a photocopy of your old passport before applying for a renewal, and keep this copy with you, all people living in germany have to carry an ID with them. Then if they lose your application you can prove your identity.

one should write to the home office in London.
I do not think that the british consulate office in duesseldorf neither the home office in London read all these complaints.
To get a quick answer I think that it is better to send your concerns to:-

consular.section.duesseldorf@fco.gov.uk OR
to the Home Office in London.

DISGRACEFUL.....
I can honestly say the worst, most expensive, extortionate service I have ever encountered!! This big brother liberty degrading system cannot go on. We are all treated as if we are terrorists (like they ever existed) and made to pay for documents that should be issued to us free of charge!! I have been stuck in Finland for 10 weeks waiting for my passport and thankfully I don't have a family to worry about or this could have been much worse. People please stand up against this fascist dictatorship! It never worked in Germany and it won't work in the rest of Europe! Down with the EU!!!!

defeating the object
I am surprised that these complaints are crisp ones. Is anyone paying attention?
I have had a little more luck than others and have received all docs within a reasonable amount of time...if you know 100% what you need and what you need to know and if you have spent hours and hours on fact finding missions. However the prices of any kind of document whether it be a passport or a Visa are extorsionate. Absolutely correct is the farse of enquiring about something. You just run around in circles getting frustrated. These World Bridge people are unprofessional and from my experience incompetent. You pay large sums of money to be messed around for weeks maybe even months. We Expats need support & sympathy, not some private entity that is only thinking about its profit. You need to get your act together and re-think these issues instead of making excuses why your staff should NOT read these articles.

what the hell is this?
i´m a british citizen here in germany and i just found out the new guidelines for passport-renewals. my sister needs a new passport and i was shocked when i read that it will cost her ´bout 200 euros!! that´s insane! and they only except credit card payment, not everyone has a credit card! why is there no altenative way of payment?! i think it would be a lot easier to apply for an german citizenship rather then going through all this :( not proud to be british at this stage at all -.-
