Hy im married to a Zimbabwean citizen and we applied for relative permit back in August at Harare and we still waiting for results of the permit and my husband got a job offer to start working November so I want to know if anyone knows when the permit will be out plz ppl i need to know because its been 3mnth now he is in Zimbabwe and i am in South Africa

If you want get it the right way look for smaller towns it's easier there but it's you are serious about it and have money talk to driving schools they can get you one for a fee

You know when I did traffic register in 2008, all this was not there, so what happens to domestic workers who qualified under ZEP, because they dont have payslips etc
Traffic Registration Number (TRN)
In order to receive a (TRN), you need to have a valid passport. You can apply for a (TRN) at a driving licence testing centre (DLTC) and complete the form application and notice in respect of traffic register number (ANR).
You will need the following documentation to apply for the (TRN):
• Valid PASSPORT (original + copy)
• Valid VISA (original + copy) must be valid for at least 6 months
• Proof of residence (original + copy)
• 2x ID Photos (black & white)
If you have a WORKING PERMIT / VISA you will also need ONE of the following documentation:
• Original employment letter on letterhead (addressed to the traffic department, originally signed with date in the recent month)
• Recent payslip & bank statement (copy + original, to show that tax is deducted)
• If you are self-employed, SARS & CK papers are required (copy)
If you have a STUDY PERMIT / VISA you will also need ONE of the following:
• Registration paper (with subjects) for the recent year (original + copy)
• Original letter on letterhead from school / university, stating that you are a student there (addressed to the traffic department, originally signed with date in the recent month)
If you use your SPOUSE, PARENT OR COMPANY PERMIT / VISA you will need ALL of the below documentation:
• Spouse ID (original + copy)
• Marriage Certificate (original + copy)
• Your spouse original employment letter on letterhead (addressed to the traffic department, originally signed with date in the recent month)
• Proof of your spouse income (original + copy)
It may take up to 6 weeks to process your application for the TRN certificate. You will also be able to use your TRN to buy a vehicle in South Africa.
Thanks guys . Traffic register is now very difficult to get, some branches even demand proof of res bank statements etc. Vanenge vachida mari chete Metro police is very corrupt kupfuura home affairs.

@Stha ....try another traffic license branch,some officials are just lazy,did they show you the home affairs correspondence ?

@Traffic department, thus a first hey about traffic register, but go to home affairs get them to give you a letter verifying your visa and then take it to the traffic department.
I am surprised traffic register now a big issue.
