Questions!
"Portuguese people think that once they get a desk job they walk on water."

It's probably that kind of racism that got you flagged.

For some strange reason Portuguese people think that once they get a desk job they walk on water. Furthermore a job with the consulate is considered such a big deal to tge point of talking down to clients . I speak both Portuguese and English but of course my Portuguese is not so great when it comes to technical terms used for documentation but still they make no effort to ensure that you understand. I work with the public in a hospital in Toronto, I'm a worker in a hospital and if I treated people that way, were I work, the way the consulate does I would be reprimanded, yet these people can continually be rude.

Question/ answered
You don't need to waist your time with dual citizenship. As a Canadian you can travel anywhere and if you want to live in Portugal just remember that the health care there is not what people thing and trying to get things done there is very difficult. Basically after moving there you'll want to come back. Portugal is no joke, not an easy place to live and for God sake don't get sick. So if I were you I would just visit, trying to get legal stuff done there is another nightmare. Everyone I've ever met that left Canada to live there has regretted it.

Azores-Help
Hi, I read many of the comments on here and I too have been frustrated, well in the Azores this summer I found a lawyer to help us with a family divorce, deaths, changing properties, getting rent paid from people on our land etc. the cost was reasonable and he speaks English. If anyone would like his contact please email me diane.puim@live.ca for his information.

Citizenship application. Worst service received in my life
I cannot believe how rude and unwilling to help these people are. I called and after hundreds of times trying to get through, finally got in touch with a guy to ask questions about the process. When I got there to file the application, turns out every piece of info I got from him was wrong including which documents to bring, costs, length of process. Thank god I started a year before I leave the country and brought extra documents or I would have been screwed.

I got there and it took hours before they served me. All the workers there were doing one job at a time and leisurely chit chatting and taking their time regardless of the huge line up. I get Europeans like their leisure time but come on! This is rediculous!! She told me it would take 6 weeks but probably 8 weeks since she was going on a two week vacation. 4 months later and nothing.

I've tried calling her and nothing. Countless voicemails and nothing back yet. I've tried calling other workers to see if they can help or ask her to call me back (they are in a large room with desks, easily can talk to each other) and was avoiding my questions, talking over me, giving me wrong information and basically trying to get rid of me. Out of the 10% of the time they did answer their calls, I practically got hung up on. Rude rude people who can't do their job.

death of someone living abroad
Could someone please help me with my query:
My mother who just recently passed away owned property and real estate in Portugal. Would anyone know what kind of documentation from Canada is needed to take to Portugal to change the ownership of properties? I've tried calling the consulate multiple times regarding this matter but can't get through to a receptionist. Thanks in advance for any advice you can throw my way.
