Very incompetent services
I can't reach them by phone, they did not answear my e-mails. They were suposed to call me when my passport was ready. I never got a call. I feel frustrated and I feel ashamed of the way my country is being represented

Rude
I just called to schedule an appointment...lady was so rude and nasty....i have to email them for an appointment? I don't need a job but would consider one at the Portuguese Consulate of NYC just to manage that office...what a joke.

You Need An Appointmet BUT:
They will not even let you past the lobby without an appointment:
You can not call to make an appointment
Even if you call, no one ever answers
You have to email them requesting an appointment
I emailed them twice in two months STILL NO reply

I've shown up TWICE begging not to be seen but to be given an appointment because phone calls and emails are not answered. I was told there was NO ONE on the list to be seen therefore I could not be allowed in. If no one is being seen, then what do they do in their offices all day from 10am -2pm? I am a Portugese CITIZEN and am being denied to be seen by my own people!

Apparently Portugal doesn't want anyone going to their country, even if you are a Portugese citizen and just need your passport renewed.

This looks horrible for our country.
