Sir,
By mere birth in Pondichery one cannot wish to get french nationality, He must know the effects on him of the franco indian treaty of cession, 1956 which came into force on 16.8.1962.
If you are a bachelor, you can follow the case of Mr. Suresh,a questioner like you, in this website, Yours sicnerely.

Sir,
Please verify whether your future lady is French or Indian, She cannot be both. A french lady of Indian originin can be OCI ie, overseas citisen of India, In such case, she may have a lifelong Indian visa.
An Indian by marrying a french lady can acquire the nationality of his wife. But this is not immediate. He has to wait for 2 or 3 years, He is observed by French authorities whether he really founded a family by living together in good harmony with his wife and giving birth children, There are cases of malpractices of marriying for money ie, paper marriage, After marriage you can join your wife in France and get a french stay card. You can also seek job as husband of a french wife.In France, knowledge of french knowledge is indispensable. Yours sincerely,
suresh

Sir,
You wish to apply for CHF. You were born in Pondicherry in 1979. You have dto prove that either your father or mother was french at the time of your birth,
Your father born in Pondicherry in 1939 was at abroad during the period of opetion Under the franco indian treaty 1956 of cession, he was not eequired to make option to conserve nationality, But if he made option at abroad in an Indian embassy to become Indian, he will lose french nationality. In such as case, you will be an Indian born to a Indian father in India. Yours sincerely

Sir,
Judgments declaring marriage by Courts In French India during french regime are acceptable After independance, french India became a foreign country to France. Foreign judgments are subjected to exequatur proceedings in France. Any how you can try, the deciding authority is the Greffier en chef to issue CNF. Yours sincerely
