Is this a scam
Due to urgency of workers needed to start our new contract we
have verified your CV and we are proud to welcome you to our company ,
here attached is your offer of Employment . We will like to work with
you for one year, You are going to start work in Cameroon for 3 months
then if you are good and punctual, you will then be transferred to
continue to work at our sites in Qatar that is if you like to go to
Qatar . when you reach Cameroon you will sign another
contract for your preferred duration. I am happy to inform you that
after screening and examination of your file, you will be retained
for the job as Depot Manager after having a head to head interview
with our Board of directors at the company's head Quarter .
Congratulations and hoping to see you in Cameroon. You are
expected to give in your best to the company as stated in your CV in
order to keep your position, if the Company finds you as incompetent
to the position granted you. It will not hesitate to demote you
immediately.

Salaries are increased after 4 months of working with us
depending on your performances. Other Benefits: transportation,
flight, holidays, health insurance, portable drinking water etc. You
will be flying to Douala International Airport, Cameroon. But before
that you need to make arrangements for your first month accommodation
and also we need to get you a resident and work permit.

*Flight
We shall be paying your flight ticket
*Accommodation:
Your accommodation during your first month of work will be your sole
responsibility (Booking & Payment).

NB.. Note that you have to book your accommodation and send the
reservation receipt to the company as your proof of accommodation.
This is because, you must show proof of accommodation before you can
obtain a work or resident permit in Cameroon. This is very important.
You shall be moved into the Company's Residential quarters after about
two months with the company, and your money refunded to you. This is
because lodging facilities are not yet ready at the construction site.
We are sorry for this, but it is the best way we can solve the
accommodation problems at the moment.

-Proof of Accommodation: You can reserve an apartment from any state
recognized apartment company or hotel and forward the receipt as
proof of accommodation to us. Grang Voyageurs Hotels and Homes is
recommended
for its proximity to the company, security, cleanness, availability of
portable water at all times and the availability of free mosquito
nets.

With Grang Voyageurs Hotels and Homes , you can either pay just
one month and they give
you a reservation for three months . The proof of funds does not include
giving out your bank details to any one.

So you can choose to pay one month . You can contact Grang Voyageurs
Hotels and Homes for Reservation .
Tell them you are from Alpha Engineering Construction Sarl
Below is their address

*Flight: Round trip flight ticket provided to employee and 3 other
persons only. A company representative will receive you from the
airport.
You are entitle to a four weeks holiday. A round trip air ticket
is normally provided to you, but it cannot be more expensive than the
cost of a ticket to your country of origin.
Please confirm your acceptance of this offer and forward the
following additional documents.

-Index page of Passport/Passbook
Forward the above document of any other persons coming along with
the employee.
All requested documents should be forwarded as soon as possible as
they are all relevant for the procession of your work permit. As soon
as we receive these documents, we shall forward your file to the
immigration center for the procession of your work permit. The
immigration Center shall then instruct the concerned Cameroonian
Embassy to issue your Work Visa.
The Embassy usually gives special considerations to Work Permit and
Visa applicants with at least 2 months accommodation proof in the
Country. You stand a chance of obtaining at least three years visa if
your accommodation reservation is three months and above. With a
three year visa, you will not need to ask a visa when returning from
your annual leave.
Our dedicated team is here to advise you on every query. We look
forward to welcoming you to the Company.
Yours Sincerely,

Alpha Engineering Construction SARL
Good day,

I'm referring to Pierre Chapman's mail dd Wednesday 1st May. My son got the exact same mail with an "employment contract" the works. There was a lot of spelling errors in the contract and no proper Company contact details, just a mail from a gmail addres from a Mr John Luma, being the Director. This made me very suspicious as my son is despirate to find a job and this seemed, to him, as an oportunity of a life time. Also the salary made me very suspicious. I mean €115 per hour???

I phoned Mr Luma, to find out about the accomodation matter but could still not pick up from our telecon if this was real or not.

I Googled their website, which to my disappointment, does not have much info. Not even a Company telephone number.

"Mr Luma, because we showed some interest, still mails my son continiously now for two days non stop. He seams just a little bit to eager to employee a 21year old with no qualifications. How do we report something or someone like this to prevent other innocent young people to fall into their trap??

If I wasn't awake and notice all the above, my son would have went for it and got badly ripped off??

Regards,

Louise Smit
