Comments on this High Commission
Hello there, I agree with Mish regarding lack of 'Duty of care' from Job websites companies. I contacted ' Jobrapido' who deleted the ad within hours but shrugged off all responsibilities instead blaming 'Google' where the fake ad came from. Sought legal advice & needless to mention the Solicitor asked how much $$ I've got to take on the Big boy whose Head Office is in Italy! With loop-holes in the Ads act, they might get away with their Lawyers. Notify the advertisers wherever. Also contact your Embassies in Cameroon to pressure the local authorities (if any) for lawful action against those low life. Still no deterrence for class action over Job ads agencies.
To brew: Please advice if this job offer is for real:

Human resource manager SOGEASATOM,

Thanks in advance
TOGETHER LET US CONSTRUCT AFRICA
I have been offered a job at Sogea Satom Construction and it all sounds to good to be true .they have asked me to pay upfront for my accommodation and for 3 months . Is this company and job offers from this company for real . Is this a scam . If anyone has any info on this please do let me know. mikader@mtn.blackberry.com
This is a SCAM and how does careers 24 advertise vacancies without checking the legitimacy of such things whether their so called client is genuine or not.
Careers 24 should be sued for all our loss and they will learn to screen their people they are dealing with.
We cannot be conned and yet we are using a supposed to be a reliable jobseekers' market.
This thugs are messing with innocent people particularly South Africans looking for jobs. What's surprising is their website does not have a physical contact place but they have all this areas of specialization and the Lingo they use, it makes you fall for it.Worse the reputable Kenya Airways they use to book fake flights and make people fall for it and yet there is no such.
Something has to be done to stop this DOGS from conning innocent jobseekers. Lets spread the word to all.
I fell for it and I do not want another innocent man to fall victim..
Lord have mess.....Sick Cameroon!!!!!
People be carefull. They are a scam. Read through their email and the contract they mail to you. On the email Johm Lumo are recruiting officer, that did the interview on your behalf with the company's directors. On the contract he is the director of the company. If you google the adress of the hotel. It gives you the adress of the ambassy. The logo are also different
Those who are seeking help or wish to alert the local authorities might come across this email addy - (info.immigrationcameroon.gov@gmail.com) . Looks very formal but you'd be dealing with the same bastards. You want to get your money back, no problem (destiny.chambers@lawyer.com) is a shonky Lawyer contact asking $$ to file whatever case. Any dodgy email addy can be made up. My advice, contact by phone only. If you get through, sus out who is on the receiving end. Thats how I found out it was a scam after I spoke to the alledge HR after many attempts. Spread this info around. Unfortunately the cyber world is a safe haven for crims specially when operating in a corrupt country.
It seems Cameroon is over run by crooks. These fake job ads been around for a long time & no local officials willing to stop this criminal network who have set up more fake contacts email posing as Cameroon Immigration, lawyers. I contacted their High Comission on that matter. No response. They dont even have an Immigration website/email. Even here, they post fake emails pretending to be their Immigration contact. They are well organised, even on social media. Warning, do not trust any email addy relating to that matter. Remember it is easy to create an email addy pretending being whoever. Am very dissapointed with Cameroon officials, no wonder why most African countries will always be poor & depraved with that mentality. Take care everyone.
I would just like to know if the embassy is opened on saturdays
