To leila Custudio,
First time I came to south africa 2005 and I don't have any problem she is very good to me. I came back to manila after 3 months visit. Then I go back to the embassy and asked her to do the paper work to get a birth certificate for my daughter which is a South African, because I born my daughter in manila. She is very kind and friendly and she give all the details and give me a call when they get my daughter birth certificate. I came back again 2007 and still she same. You just need your requirements complete and if they dont answer your call it mean they are busy with the interview with other clients. .. thanks leila for being so nice and friendly...

Bayani Santos
Hi Bayani, can I ask you how much you pay for visitors visa? I am from Cebu and I experienced calling the embassy many times but as what you've said they are very rude.. yes they are, I just want to ask a short question but before you can say something they already cut you off after you been dialing for an hour because they always ignore your call. I am so disappointed by our co-filipinos, wherever you go if Filipino staff, they will treat you so bad. I just wish African embassy also operated by African citizens and the staff as well will be south african/...

Hoping for a better assistance for a tourist visa this time.....
I've been to South Africa twice for the past few years, and its been 2 years since the last time I applied for a tourist visa. I was hoping this time it would be different. I will pay a visit within this month to secure a visa before flying to SA. But first of all, I must visit the SA embassy personally because the last time I used the application form printed out from the internet, ive been told that was the old logo and i must use the latest one which is only available from the security door of SA embassy located at the RCBC Ayala corner Buendia, Makati. It very inappropriate to drive all the way there for an application form for 3 hours (considering the traffic in that area) but it has to be done unfortunately. Its very old fashioned yet we have no choice. I tried to contact them once ( which I wont be doing anymore, as I was really annoyed by the rudeness of the secretary and I am not sure who is it as I have been told that they weer only 2 who works there) , I was also told that they were not supposed to entertain question thru phone as they were given only few minutes to entertain, yet the rudeness and discussion took more than a minute and such a waste of time. The whole reason was to only ask what other requirements , I must bring to complete my application and I mentioned everything that I prepared and simply follow and completed all the requirements written in the list they gave. Like the other previous comments here, I have also encounter the same problem with regards to requirements, they will ask you to submit an additional requirements then once you return the requested requirements they will ask you for another requirements, would it be difficult to ask you at once, bear in mind, they have very strict time and required days for submission. I have to say its very inconsiderate and unreasonable. I was hoping this time would be different and they will be more approachable and helpful. I remember visiting SA Embassy in Kuwait, they were all South African nationals who assists me and they were all very helpful and accommodating, I wonder why my fellow Filipinos who works in SA embassy in Manila are not very helpful and accommodating. , just wondering.....I hope this year would be different and I pray they would be more accommodating...Thanks

Transit Visa
our company is sending one of our staff to site in Namibia (next door country to South Africa). He is flying emirates to J'Berg then has a connecting flight straight out of J'Berg airport to Namibia, yet he is required to get a transit visa..?
after 2 days of calling, he went to the embassy to get information as it couldnt be done over the phone..?

he now needs a bunch of letters and requirements in order for him to get his transit visa. Hes been told the transit visa will take 5 working days to get..! All this for a connecting flight in J'Berg...? why does it have to be so hard.

im sure the client will reconsider sending any more philipinos to site as its made difficult to get by this transit visa.

does the secretary know what shes doing??????????
my boyfriend applied for his visa, which was being sponsored by my family....all he requested was a visitors visa, firstly they dont answer the calls at the embassy,2nd u are not allowed inside and the security guard tells u abt the documents required,3rd the secretary is very rude and calls u in a numorous amount of times with diffrent things required instead of telling u everything at once.we are deeply upset as he was asked to go for a seminar that is only required for migration or those married to foreigners we had to change the ticket dates as the will not process the documents. somebody needs to tell this lady that tickets cannot be booked only bought. i have reported this to the department of foreign affairs in S.A and i urge all those experiancing problems to do so.......as these people have no idea what they doin there!!!!!!!!

The Fact of the Matter is...
Leila asks people to write good comments here from few people who comes to the embassy because she visits this page all the time and reads ALL of the comments here. The south african embassy staff are bothered by what people write here and is trying to do something about it. that's the reason why suddenly you see nice comments recently. I know this because she asked me to do it and even gave me this website.
