I am trying to apply for a child UK passport for my child who has an Italian Birth Certificate. It is not clear if the 'unclassified list' of translators the British Embassy Rome gives are the official translators recognised by the UK government as competent to translate legal documents from Italian into English : The paragraph at the top of the list explicitly says the UK govt/Foreign Office as represented by the Brit Embassy in Rome take no responsibility for the ' competence or probity' of the lawyers or translators listed. So what I ask is the point of the list ? Or is there another list somewhere? I need the name of a translator near me (Viareggio,Lucca) who is recognised as competent by the UK govt. to translate a Birth Certificate.
The rider to all this is that:
1) I have already been on the phone today to the UK govt.office who had no answers, kept me on hold..and cost me 30€ pf phone credit.
2) Calling the Brit Embassy in Rome I could not get through to an actual person and kept being referred to the website which simply says 'translated by a professional translator' and the phone number which is prohibitively expensive and useless.
I feel stressed. I fee penalised for living in Italy, knowing that the Psssport Service in the UK for UK residents is excellent and costs half(£72) compared to the cost (£148) to apply from Italy.
I await your response and specifically your advice on the matter.

Life in Italy as a single woman has been hell and I am desperate to get out. Getting any real assistance from the Brit Consulate has been a joke.
I was raped in Sorrento, had all my things stolen on the Grandi Navi Veloci ferry, been subjected to lying, dishonest landlords but carried on teaching English in state schools that did not pay for months. I am DESPERATE to get out of this god forsaken hell hole. The beuracracy has made me almost gaga. I relocated from Sicily and changed my residency to Bordighera and now I cannot even get the name of a doctor to go to unless I can prove I have been in Italy for 5 years..I worked here, paid taxes here, had medical coverage and residency and Sicily and now I must jump through more hoops than a circus dog. I hate living in this country and am desperate to get out!!!! And thanks to the BRIT CONSULATE that did eff all to help me!

About 3 years ago I had a series of telephone calls from different people claiming to be stockbrokers in different Asian countries, all offering shares in north American companies.
I've just had a couple more similar calls, now offering shares in a Chinese company.

Application for Asylum
I am Eritrean member of Pentecostal Khalehiwot church. I received this faith in November 2004. Two months after I received this faith I was arrested in Christian wedding. This incident is a known incident in the world. It was announced by radio television news. That time al l the wedding attendant were arrested including the brides and grooms (there were two wedding in one). We were thrown in prison for several months. At last we were given warnings and threats not to practice our faith. We were told that if we were found to pray, attend church or preach we would be killed. At last they released us.
Again after two years (July 2007) I faced persecution for my faith. This happened by my close relatives. My aunt aroused persecution working with the security of Eritrea. They hunted me and my brothers and sisters who are also Pentecostals. That time my younger sister was arrested by security members and she was in prison until May 2010. But I by the mercy of God I managed to escape the persecution.
Again in 2012 January I was arrested. One month after my arrest I escaped from prison along with others after they took us out for the natural call on open air. I couldn’t tolerate all my problems. One thing I was sure. As Pentecostal it is difficult to live in Eritrea. So I decided to come to Sudan.
So in November 10 2012 I arrived Sudan. I went through dark and dangerous deserts to arrive Sudan. All my escape to Sudan is to look for freedom and peace. But still I found the condition in Sudan to be not very similar. At first when I arrived in Sudan I went to UNHCR camp. But I found the camp to be extremely poor in security. The camp is vulnerable to enemies of the refugees. The camp is vulnerable to group (Tribe ) of robbers called rashida. Those robbers they hijack refugees and take them to Sinai where they are asked to transfer money or their body parts (kidney, heart, etc.) would be taken. Specially now the refugee camp is not really refugee camp. Moreover there is extremely poor shelter and food.
Therefore I came to live in the capital of Sudan where I am not allowed to live or work. Now in this country i don't have any right or freedom . with such pain and sorrow from Sudan to Italy i came through the long and dangerous desert across the sea i came i arrived Italy the soldiers of Italy enforced me to do finger print i did finger print in Italy i don't like to live in Italy because there is no more penetcoastal chrsian like as I am in such situation. Therefore I ask you to have concern on my condition and grant me the opportunity to resettle in UK .I have, National ID, BIRTH CERTIFICATE

I have a place in italy which was made iinagible' by the commune because it has a crack . I cant sell it or live in it till the commune repairs it. I cant get any answers anywhere.
