Any updates from June CSV applicants??????????
According to informed rumors the Department of Home Affairs is intending to centralise the processing of all applications in Pretoria, South Africa.
This dramatic change is to take place from January 2019 on wards. This would mean that no applications will be processed at the missions any more.
Kindly note: There is no official communication regarding this dramatic change yet.
The reasons for this change for the Department of Home Affairs are twofold. Firstly, it addresses the problem of the different levels of adjudication at the missions. Secondly, it enables the department to withdraw Human Resources from the missions and therefore save costs. It is to be expected that some of the staff will be redeployed to Pretoria.
We think that this change will significantly increase the processing times and therefore require the applicants to even have more time available for submissions. Although, it is quite early to say, we expect that the passports will not be required anymore during the whole process in time. At least this point might be a well received change.
We will monitor this new development and inform you as soon as we have concrete Confirmation of this change as well as some further details.
when applying in Zim most people i know infact a lot of them used voluntary eng bodies e.g saiie, saimm etc and got their CSVs , i used IMESA(Institute of Municipal Engineers) which is a voluntary board and got my CSV in July.
However for extension and PR in SA some were told to register with ECSA
DHA is inconsistent, very true.I got my CSV last year with ECSA candidate. But a few months down the line, people were denied visas cos of candidate registrations.
I agree with #pfee as i got 5yr CSV using these VAs and a number of other people too got them up to being granted PR
I know a number of individuals (myself included) that have gotten positive 5 year CSV outcomes with voluntary associations and have gone on to get PR and IDs too. The problem is that DHA is very inconsistent
Just spoke to VFS Harare, the embassy is busy with June Applications... Next week many will get their outcomes
I know a couple of people who got their 1 year CSV using bodies that are note recognized by SAQA. However, when you want to get the 4 year extension, Home Affairs is stricter, they will tell you to use SAQA Accredited ones. On the other hand, a lot of inconsistencies at home affairs and they always say applications are treated differently depending on an individual's case.....
Very strange coz I got my CSV using SAIIE in May this year. Problem is that DHA is inconsistent
For food science CSV renewal and even first timers, it's ideal to use SACNASP and or SACA since they are major professional bodies recognised by SAQA. SAAFoST is a voluntary academic body not a legal body. I have heard other people saying their CSV were rejected because they used SAAFoST.
