Benny, remember that the Portuguese nationality is one of the best in the world because of Portugal being part of the European Union.
If you don't know any other language but are proficient in English, then the Republic of Ireland is your next best option as it's a majority English speaking country. They have Gaelic as a local language. It's a good economy, but mind you that the taxes are high, but it's a good place to work and start a family. I was considering it, but because of religious reasons mainly, I chose Scotland, as my passport process is due to complete during the transition period of the UK.
I'd say go fully for the R.O. Ireland if you can't make it to the UK. But mind you, they have Northern Ireland which is part of the UK, but there shouldn't be any problem post brexit if you want to visit Northern Ireland. You'd have to focus on working in Dublin, the main city area, and live outside of Dublin as Dublin can be an exorbitant place to live.
If you want, you can also choose the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It's not absolutely incumbent for you to know Dutch, as they have a ninety percent English speaking population.
Sweden is good, but again they have high taxes, but about eighty percent English speakers.
Denmark, is great, but high taxes, and about eighty percent English speakers.
Finland is great, but seventy percent English speakers.
Germany is about fifty.
Belgium is about sixty,
Austria is about seventy. There would be more English speakers in Lisbon in Portugal if you want to migrate to Lisbon, but the other areas would have more Portuguese speaking populace.

Ethan, I'd suggest until your pre sixty one case is cleared, try to get into contact with, if possible, the barrister handling your case in Portugal. Make regular trips to your agent to ensure that the case is going through. In my case, that's what I do. I keep in contact with both, Mr Emerico and his partner (another groups of barristers) who are actually given my and my father's POAs any one of who keeps in contact with me and Mr. Emerico.

Don't stay silent about it.

you are registering your mother, so your grandfather's death certificate won't be considered. The panchayat should given your mother's residence certificate, even if she was minor at the time of seventy-four/five. This panchayat has not done its job properly, I'm sorry to say!

I had given the agent residence certificate of my grand father as my mother was minor during seventy four /five. However I don't understand one thing, my grand father had passed away before that date and I don't know why tHey asked me that..they did not even take death certificate of my Gfather. I have all documents again and they say this time all is OK and will hear something in the mid of twenty twenty...I have lost faith in this agent to be honest and desparately waiting for first process to happen... As many said changing at this time will only increase my waiting time.

Yeah, they should have asked for your grandfather's death certificate. Not sure how it works without that.

When were you told that all is sufficient concerning your first process?
