That's not a process number. A process number ×××××/xxxx ( 5 digit process number followed by the year of submission.

You have to post the documents to the CRC, there is no online submission.

Do I just email/write to them and tell them to update the address or I would need to show them proof?

Xavier / Delicia
Xavier - Email or Call them. They take a while to reply to emails.

Delicia - Don't think it's possible to have a site with exact updates. Even if you call them they just say the case is being processed and nothing more.
Basically You need to have patience. After submitting your case just assume it'll take 15 months (can take lesser time, but assume 15 so you won't be impatient) and then go back to whatever you were doing before you started the application.
You can't think of it all the time. When it comes, it comes until then you have to move on with other things.

This was probably possible in the past, with the old Portuguese Consulate General's (in Goa) website. Their new website to my knowledge apparently doesn't have this aspect. So, I reckon that emailing the CRC to inquire of one's status is an alternative.
