Shayne can you assit me on this matter;
My solicitor in Portugal says my birth certificate is registered and he has received it and sent me the certificate via post and I would receive it in a couple of days. As I still email the registry as well to follow up, today they replied saying;

Com referência ao processo em epígrafe, informa-se V.Exa que o mesmo aguarda resultado de diligências oficiosas, promovidas por esta Conservatória, junto do Consulado de Portugal em Goa, findas as quais ser-lhe-á dado conhecimento

I'm left wondering, if registry is still awaiting outcome of their enquiry, how come my solicitor says its registered?. As it could be possible my solicitor could send me a fake just so I can pay him the rest of his money? I did query him but he said maybe registry does not trust that I'm the one requesting the information so might want to protect the identity of the person or maybe delay in updating on their system.
Would greatly appreciate your inout

It's hard to give any time frame for followups. Now an agent doesn't have any authority of any sort so the CRC won't entertain them anyway. Unless the POA has been given to a lawyer in Portugal he has the right to inquire and push for the process to be completed soon.

I submitted the RC in late September 17,, what the process from here and how much more waiting period do you expect before any further news..My Agent tells me as we have given them the power of attorney..and if we send email to CRC it creates issues for them..as CRC questions them for multiple people following up for the same process ..is this true ?

Once you get your Assento take that to the Portuguese consulate and apply for your BI card if they accept it then it's legitimate if they don't then you will know if it's a fake one but I doubt being a lawyer he would do such a thing...
