Sir.
You were born in 1992 in Pondicherry, India, Your father and mother are not french citisens, So you cannot claim for french nationality certificate. Yours sincerely
HELLO EVERYONE ,I WAS BORN IN PONDYCHERRY IN 1992 BUT MY FATHER AND MONTHER ARE NOT FRENCH CITIZEN.THEY ARE FROM TAMILNADU.SO ANY POSSIBLE IS THERE TO GET FRENCH CITIZEN
I am interested in obtaining the loss of french nationality by non-usage. The later procedure is much easier than naturalization. Now, I understood how to prove our past French status. Thanks a lot for your advice.
SIR,
CNF is issued by the Greffier en chef He is an officer. He will stick on the rules and regulation. If the application is not supported by necessary documents, he zill simply refuse for the reason that your claim is not sufficiently proved with documents, You can appeal to the Law minister, He may also confirm the appealed decision. Then you can file a suit for declaration of nationality before the competent TGI in France. There you can putforth all sorts of pleadings. The Court may accept your plea. Please contact a french advocate in France to take up yor case. Yours sincerely
Dear sir,
Thanks for clarifying the previous question. You made my day sir :).
My last question is that, can filiation be proved by legal documents. i.e., for e.g. inheriting a property due to legal/natural filiation. (I don't have birth and marriage certificates of my grand father. But the title deed of our house mentions: name of my grand father, his legal father, mode of inheritance, name of his legal wife and his legal children.)

Sir,
Under french rule, if a person born in French India held a public post and voted in french elections, it will serve for him or his descendant as a proof of his french nationality subject to his option to conserve french nationality, under franco indian treaty, 1956. To hold a post in French administration one should enclose with his application for appointment his CNF
and casier judiciaire, Yours sincerely
Dear sir,
I know about the 50 year rule regarding the loss of french nationality (code civil 23-6 and 30-3). But, all these years, I was of impression that my father lost it. Just recently I came to know that the people born outside French India preserved the nationality. I really appreciate you sir for your patience and concern in replying to all these people. I will surely meet you, when I visit Pondichery in this summer.
During French rule, if a male person is holding a public office or having his name in voter list, then do that person be considered to be French, as per then laws??
I am about to apply to the concerned authorities here.
- Krishna
Sir,
If your father was born in 1950 outside French India to french parents, you may prove that you are French. Now your claim is too late. Since you are now in France please contact a French advocate knowing well the subject and know the provisions under section 30-3 of french code civil. It is better to know also the effects of Franco Indian treaty, 1956 regarding the merger of Fr.India into Indian Union. Yours sincerely.
By mistake I have written grand father instead of father in the sentence, "the house is inherited by his wife (my grand mother) and his son (my grand father)."
please read it as "the house is inherited by his wife (my grand mother) and his son (my father)."
Thanks for you patience and concern sir.
I would like to add that, in the title deed right from my great grand father, the manner of inheritance and the legal children are mentioned. Same document mentions that my grand father was legal son of my great grand father. It also mentions that after the death of my grand father, the house is inherited by his wife (my grand mother) and his son (my grand father). But this title deed is done after independance. I dont know, if it can stand as a proof of filiation. Also, I would like to know if 'loss of french nationality by desuetude' can impact my father or me.
