Regarding French nationality
Dear sir,
From 6 generations, we are residing at Pondicherry UT. We obtained proofs that my great grand father (died 1941) worked at criminal court and was a municipal counsillor. my grand father was farmer and we dont have his birth and marriage certificates. My father was born outside French India in 1950s. From 6 generations we are living at same house and it is being inherited by each generation by successive filiation. The current title deed mentions inheritance based on filiation, right from our great grand father. My father never visited France and I am currently residing at France. Can we apply for french nationality???

Regarding CNF through the name of renoncant
Respected Sir,
(Please find below the previous conversations mentioned for your reference)
Hi Sir,

My Grand father was born on 27-01-1925 and expired 25-08-1983.
My father got married 16-02-1977 and expired 01-10-2005.
My grand mother was nationality French through immatriculation as she came from tamil nadu.
She received pension from the French govt and unfortunately due to illness she expired on 18-06-2014.
My grand father did not opt the option in the following dead date (from 16.8.1962 to 15.2.1963)
My family renoncant is been registered 6 august 1962.

So could you please kindly let me know whether there is any chance to get the CNF through our family renoncant.

Regards,
Nirmal

Sir.
Your were a minor aged 15 years in l962. You have not stated your place of birth. Your father did not subscribe the option though being renoncant, So he has lost his french nationality. If you were born in Fr India you will follow the condition of your father ie Indian nationality, Yours sincerely

First of all, I have to thank to have responded for my query …
Sir in this I would like to bring to your notice that when the time of option 1962 my father was 4 years old as he was born 06-12-1958 got married 16-02-1977 and expired 01-10-2005.
Please note sir ….my grandfather, my father, and my grandmother all three persons are expired
In this my grandmother was out of Pondicherry came from Tamilndau and married my grandfather pondicherian so she got a French nationality through immatriculation but unfortunately she expired last year (18-06-2014)
Now their grandsons and granddaughters we are living now my concern is there any possibility to have a chance to get the CNF through renoncant that my grandfather register 6 august 1962.

Thanks in advance for your kind reply sir…

Nirmal

Sir,
You need not act according to the wish of the concerned authority, In french law a name of birth given in a B/c in french language, can be rectified only when there is an error or mistake under section 99 of french civil code. Even in English translation the same french spelling will occur, I am having my Indian passport with my name in french spelling. If you dont want your name with french spellng, you can change your name under Indian law by publication in official gazette. This will not have retrospective effect,ie it will apply to future, Yours sincerely
