asked for long term visa being a wife of a master mariner on oil tanker
appl no frmu/260216/0055/01

had requested in my application for long term

Request for long term multiple schengen visa ( wife of captain on Oil Tankers).

I Mrs. Sabita M Mirji [ Ind pp no : ) am the wife of Captain Mahendra Mirji who is Master on large oil tankers sailing worldwide and who has 18 yrs experience as captain. He is currently working with Transpetrol TM As, Asker, Norway . [Business ID 884423 082 ] for the past five years.

Transpetrol is one of the major principals for Wilhelmsen Shipmanagement Ltd for whom he is working for the past 14 years.

I am aged 55 and have taken voluntary retirement and now prefer to sail with my husband as my domestic and family commitments are now accomplished.

As my husband sails on oil tankers more often than not they are issued with proceedings orders such as proceed to Deviation point off Gibraltar or Caribbean vs Gibraltar in order that the operators can maximise their profits.

As a result we do not know the next port of call until the last moment and in some countries supernumeraries require to have a visa before arriving by ship .
It's not possible for me to get visa at the last moment , hence as my husband being a master of the ship has to sign me off before the ship goes to any European countries as also if I am joining my husband in European waters I get visa only for the duration of her stay there , the problem arises once again during my husband’s work tenure on the ship as the ship may tend to go again and again such as load in another country and discharge in Europe or vise versa .At times I have a fear of being deported or put in house arrest aboard vessel which leads to embarrassing situations for both of us as also fear of fining the ship.

Besides the Company or the owner’s also are not in a position to state and tell as to when the ship is likely to touch the European waters ( COPY OF COMPANY’S LETTER ENCLOSED )as the owners have given the ship to run for a contract period and the port of loading and discharging is descided by the charterers which is not disclosed to neither the owners or the company . It is not disclosed until the last moment .

On the other hand if his ship comes into Europe and if we need to disembark upon completion of my husband’s contract my husband can’t sign off as I don’t posses a Schengen visa then we have to wait for the next port of call which leads to many more complications and other unpleasant issues.

Now since my elder daughter is married and the younger daughter is working hard towards being a chartered accountant we are now able to travel together as also if we sign off in your beautiful country we would like to take a vacation before we come back to our home country after finishing our contract

I have two flats worth Rs 4 to 5 crores in Mumbai plus shares in blue chip companies worth Rs 60 lakhs which would definitely show my intentions of returning back to my home country india.

It is essential for me to have a Schengen visa as otherwise I will have to leave the ship at the previous port if I do not have a schengen visa and the port may not be a convenient port for me to disembark and then likely to be deported or pay heavy fines in Europe. Since my husband’s sailing and leave schedule is not accurately defined, I request you to kindly issue me with multiple entry tourist visa for atleast 5 years , such that I do not have to apply again and again after each contract and am also flexible to book our tours to Spain and Europe, prior to joining the vessel or even visit directly from the ship upon completion of my contract there.

My US Visa was issued for 10 years and expiring on 16.11.2021 as also my Canadian visa which was issued for 9 years till 18.04.19 since my passport is expiring on 18.05.19
I have been earlier issued Schengen VISA on my earlier passport no as follows:

Visa Number From To Indian Passport No. Type
F57214142 21.06.07 17.12.07 Multiple entry
F59447343 20.5.08 19.5.09 Multiple entry
F61543164 20.5.09 19.5.09 Multiple entry
2103863 29.11.15 23.12.15. Single entry

During the above issued visa periods I had visited the following places in Europe :

Which is attached vide Xerox in my earlier passport no
country PORT in out
Netherland Amsterdam 15.08.07 16.08.07
France Paris 15.12.08
France Le Havre 19.12.08
France Dunkerque 29.01.09 29.01.09
Spain Cartagena 19.02.09 20.02.09
Spain Barcelona 10.07.09
Portugal Sines 14.07.09
Spain Cartagena 14.09.09
Spain Alicante 16.09.09

To avoid all these problems I request you to grant me a 5 or 10 years multiple entry tourist visa as my husband usually sails for 3 to 4 months which sometimes extends to 4 and half to 5 months and 3 months on vacation and then I do not have to reapply again and again unlike US and Canadian visa

Now the ship is currently in Houston –USA and my husband is in USA – Houston currently staying in a hotel as she was expected to berth on 11th of February 2016 but the vessel is still in anchorage with no news and no prospects of berthing as yet as the operators are looking for a favourable market to optimize their profits and waiting for the appropriate time to bring the ship in to load.

Due to the above various difficulties and uncertainties, I regret I cannot give you an airline ticket or any iternary for your reference.

Appreciate if you could call me for a personal appointment , for granting me a long term visa so that I can place my problems faced by me in front of you which will be able to convince you the problems faced by me
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards

Non-return of original Accommodation D'Accueil
Hon'ble sir,
Between 2009 and 2014, I and my spouse visited Paris in three occasions. Again in next month (October 2015) we intend to visit paris, for which we have already been granted Schengen VISA. We are grateful to French Consulate office Mumbai for immediate grant of VUSA. Our VISA endorsed passports were sent by courier. But the original Accommodation D'Accueil submitted by us was not returned along with our Passport. Wherein a Yellow Card printed warning card sent along with our passports, in which clear direction is given that Prive Visit: attestation D'accueil issued by the Municipal council Paris must be necessary to produce to the immigration officer. Sir, we are keeping a photo copy of our current accommodation D'accueil. Will this photo copy is enough for immigration? If not, the original Accommodation D'accueil may kindly be return to us. Our application references: FRMU/310815/0005/01 & 02. Kindly do needful and oblige please. Email: schandranbhilai@rediffmail.com

Due to delay in obtaining required documents from France, i have very less time to finalize my trip. Therefore, this is my humble request to provide me visa on same day.
