which came into force on 16.08.1962. If your father and yourself were born in Fr. India, both of you are covered by the said treaty. Yours sincerely,

At the time of french government announcement at Pondicherry, I am a minor girl. 3 years old. my birth date is 14-07-1959. I want to get french nationality. Please give me rules and regulations to get french nationality.

Sir,
You say your father born in 1933 in Pondicherry did not make option, So he has become Indian w.e.f 16.08.1962. Your date and place of birth not given,
A marriage of a french person done in 1970 in India, should be transcribed in the competent CGF in India and not at Nantes. Your case should be discussed with relevant papers in a french lawyer's office and not in this site. Yours sincerely

we are french for the past three generations.. i have the documental proof for that. our great grandmother was a celebataire. she was born in 1874 and died in 1944.she is a french citizen. article 8.1 -1897 law of naturalisation there was a naitonality paper given. our grandmother and grandfather has done option in that.. our grandfather is ancien combatant in militaire... do i have a chance to get french nationality? ... what is the way to register my father's marriage in etat civil( nantes)?..which article?... the marriage was done in 1970...he was born in 1933 in pondicherry and he did not do option....

If you have a working contract duly approved by French Government, you can apply for french visa and then go to France. Yours sincerely

Please read again the previous reply. It is very clear. I add one more point ie. if your parents'marriage took place before 18.08.1962, your mother will acquire french nationality and conserve it. The time limit for option expired on 15.02.1963.Yours sincerely,
