French nationality
My granfather was born in 1912 in pondicherry but he's died, my grandma alive. Any possibilities get French nationality for me?

Your father was born in the year 1944 at Pondicherry.
If he was a french citizen and aged above 18 years on 16.08.1962 and residing in Fr. India or Indian Union, he should have made option in the CGF at Pondichery within 6 months from the said date.

Your father, born in Pondicherry was a minor on 16.8.1962, date of de jure transfer of French India to Indian Union. If your father's father was born in Fr, India and french citizen domiciled in Fr India or Indian Union, he should have made a written declaration of option in the CGF at Pondicherry for him and your father, within six months fron the abovesaid date. My father was born in 1959, Pondicherry and my grandmother also born in pondicherry. Is he eligible to get french citizenship?

You can find laws on french nationality in french code civil. You can also contact the nationality section in a French consulate general of France or Fench embassy in India. Yours sincerely
