My sister is being raped by her husband and held against her will
My sister who has dual nationality (UK and Australian) is being abused by her husband who in addition to raping her, withholds all funds, has locked away her passport & barely even lets her out of the house. They have two kids (whose passports he has locked up too). The kids also have UK nationality. The Australian agencies brush her off each time she reports his mistreatment of her which has now driven her to alcohol and anorexia!!! Is there any help she can get from the British consulate as she does not want to be with him but he holds her against her will.

suspicious death in 1921
To whom it may concern,

I should please like some advice on how best to proceed with obtaining any records held by the embassy (or elsewhere), on the death of my Great Uncle, George Prendergast, who was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Jones Bay, Sydney, on 31.March 1921. He was a a sailor from Liverpool England, who signed up in Jones Bay aboard the steamer Northumberland, but never made the trip.

George's brother, John, my Grandfather, died never knowing the full facts about his Brother's death, and my own Father, now eighty years old, is still passionate to find put the truth. A report I have discovered in the Northern Daily Leader of Tamworth, New South Wales, dated 16th April, 1921, says that an inquest was held but an open verdict was returned, noting that George's body was found in the harbour having been made fast to a collier (the Palmerston) by means of a rope. Two wounds to the head were declared to be caused after death and an open verdict was returned.

Any advice or short cuts your expertise suggest would be gratefully received!

Thank you in advance

Shaun Prendergast
