My name is David Bainbridge, On 26 november 1973 I was born in BMH Rinteln in West Germany. My father at the time was serving with the British Armed forces and was based in Minden.

For some time I have been attempting to locate a record of my birth so I can request my first passport/driving license but I cant find any record of it and i wasnt registered within the UK when i cam here in 1974-75 — as I understand it, it was not necessary for births in overseas military hospitals to be dual registered until much later.
My fathers Army records show my birth as having happened, but no copy of my birth certificate was added, and I have a letter from the Army confirming this, I have contacted the general registry office and many more but no records of me can be found.

I am also clutching at straws that a births register exists from BMH Rinteln 1973 that is not public that does have my birth listed.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Status of Issue of UK Passport
My UK Passport was issued via the British Consulate in Düsseldorf.
Would this status be as being issued in the UK, or in Germany? (asked by US Travel Conditions).

Visa
I am a Philippine passport holder living in Germany married with a German. We are planning to visit UK this coming summer for only a week. Do i need to apply for a visa?( in Hannover )

Wrong Address
I believe the address supplied is wrong (possibly an old one). I went to the Consulate last year, I asked a few people directions and a lot of people gave the address at the top of the page. Anyway I'm almost certain the correct one is

Hi, i would like to fly with British Airways to Ghana and will like to know how i can get a transit visa and would it possible to get it in the british consulate in hannover or i have to drive to b erlin? Thanks
