Comments on this Consulate-General
Many of us South Africans receive excellent service from both Munich and Berlin offices. One must note that Munich is serving the States of Bayern and Badenwürttenberg with only two Consular employees. Berlin does the rest of Germany with approx. 8 Consular employees. All information and forms are available on the website to be downloaded and completed. We disagree with the telephone enquiries during the public hours ( 9-12). The officials attend to the public. Telephone calls are from 14-16:30 as stated on their website. The best one can do is drop them and email and they are efficient in answering your enquiries. We salute the Consular staff for their excellent work and service. They can only do what they can. We can only say the above comments are from angry citizens.
Hi Joe, what is your enquiry at SA Embassy, maybe I can help
I called this morning for information and was rudely cut off. I have noticed that my previous, politely worded comment complaining about the service and treatment was deleted. Bummer, I thought we lived in a world where free speech was the order of the day.
I called the Consulate at 09h23am and was told by the receptionist to call back in the afternoon. I was told that they do not answer questions in the morning as they are busy with the public. When I insisted to speak to Mrs. Green I was cut off and after numerous attempts to call back, no luck. I am very disappointed as I am also one of the public that just wanted a simple yes or no answer.
I have applied for a re-newed SA passport as my has expired , this takes up to 6 months for completion. In the mean time I have applied for a temporary SA passport(takes 3 weeks), if this comes in time would I be able to travel to Germany on a valid temporary passport .I also have a permanent residency card for Germany.
When trying to get information about a ZA passport at the RSA Consulate-General in Munich by phone the following happens:
1. One is told to phone after 14.30 and ask for Ms Green.
2. This person never answers the phone and I doubt that this person exists!
3. After having phoned 7 times!! One is told to leave one's tel no and that they would call back.
4. One waits the whole afternoon for that call.
5. The next day the whole spiel starts all over again.
Same procedure for the next ??? days!!
THE IMPRESSION ONE GETS???
1.No-one is interested in assisting a South African citizen to HIS/HER rights!
2. Should Ms Green really exist, she definitely never works/never answers her phone!
3.The attitude of the lady at the switchboard = arrogant and uppity ; Like: who is this person on the phone bothering us? SHE/HE has NO right to ask someone from the Consulate-General to attend to HIS/HER problem.
I am unable to travel to Munich pesonally in order to "solve" my query. How can I get these so-called civil servants paid for with MY tax money!! to attend to my rights as a South African citizen????
I would like to know how I can renew my drivers license without having to go back to South Africa or maybe getting a german one.
