Don't bother with the contact numbers or email addresses for the embassy as they don't work.Use the consular number (01 53 59 24 01) to get through to where you need to get but be aware any legalization matters can only be handled between 3pm and 5pm. No service delivery in South Africa as well as overseas.

There is a big problem with the service provided by the Consulate and this is reflecting very badly on South Africa as a country. I have been waiting for 10 months for documents requested, but this in itself is not the biggest issue, the problem is that there is no way to contact the Consulate other than to spend time on transport to go to the Consulate in person. There are two phone numbers on the website, one is out of service and the other just rings until it reaches voicemail. I have tried this at all hours and for days on end, the phone never gets answered. In addition, the e-mail address for queries as well as the website contact form don't help either. No mails or queries sent via these two methods ever work. This is completely unacceptable and I would suggest that all contact information be removed from the site as it creates the false impression that the Consulate can actually be contacted via these methods.
can you please give me information as to how to go forward. I am South african. My fiancee is French. We are planning on getting married, though I need a Marriage Impedence cerificate. Can I apply for this through the SA embassy in Paris?
The phone is not being aswered currently and the working hours dont seem to be on the website.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT PARIS EMBASSY FOR 2 WEEKS TO GET AN ID FOR MY DAUGHTER. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE . YOU ONLY GET A VOICE MESSAGE BUT THEY DON'T RETURN YOUR CALLS.
