Comment on Munich
I see some very stark contrasts in commentary on the service in Munich.

All I can say is that the people in the Munich location have always gone out of their way to be genuinely helpful to me - even when renouncing my SA citizenship (no choice there!).

To one or two posters who questioned Ms:Green's existence - I can vouch for the claim that she is a living, breathing person. I suspect you may not have been able to speak to her as she is one person handling "the volume" for B-W and Bavaria. Have spoken to her a few times, and, well, never had a problem.

Just my 5c worth!

Gratitude to the consulate
Though i don't condone the length of obtaining a temporary passport, because I believe that since the information is already in the system it should be a matter of retrieving and confirming and issue a passport in minutes.

Having said that, I want to thank the South African Consulate in Munich for the assistance i received. They went out of their way to help including taking me to the police station to open a case even though it was past the office hours.

I lost my passport at Nuremberg, due to delay in trains to Munich and me getting lost along the way I reached the consulate way past 12pm which is their closing time. But I was received and assisted beyond my expectations. I experienced the spirit of Ubuntu in that office.

Olease keep doing the great job.

Refusal to Liaise with Berlin on protocol
Today i experienced something at the Munich Consular that speaks miles against the concept of Ubuntu. I have decided to renounce my South African citizenship due to travelling reasons. I forwarded the mail below to the Consular " Exact words from the three people working there - "We are following protocol from South Africa we will not be giving back your cancelled documents. As a non South African - you have no right to get these documents back. We dont care what Berlin does - we will do what we see fit." I find it strange and also disappointing their full refusal and unwillingness to try and help me to find out how Berlin does this and whether this is possible . I did get very angry based on this attitude of flat refusal even after submitting the letter below, and apologise for that. The way i was treated and spoke to - is not what I expected from the Consular - worst experience ever at any Embassy globally - avoid this place and go to Berlin
