Did they informed anything about when they will release Visa's
I believe you have a point. Congrats on getting your visa in time.
I don't know much about tourist visas as I haven't applied for any but a friend of mine applied for a tourist visa on 3rd February and received his visa yesterday. Probably because his flight bookings were verifiable and he was staying with a friend so he submitted the host's ID certified by a commissioner of oaths. Along with this, he submitted covering letter from his company saying his leave had been approved. He also produced his bank statements and salary slips although they were not asked for. Lastly, his travel history included visits to USA, UK, Europe and Canada all on tourist visas.
The more legitimate your documents are the lesser time they spend in scrutiny and hence visas get issued timely.

applied for visitors visa end jan,processed visa was ready to collect within 10 days at vfs Mumbai.
i guess if your application & supporting documents are sound, you have nothing to worry about regarding tourist visas.
my advise is:- use verifiable tickets and accommodation bookings from good and reputed companies/sites. Good itinerary and a sound covering letter also plays a big role. avoid peak season applications if you have time constraints.
Applied for Tourist Visa in December , still waiting.

Hi guys,
I am waiting for my CSV since 1st of December, anyone received any long term visas recently?
Embassy says their printer for long term visa is broken and they haven't printed any in a while, however all short term visas are dispatched within 2 weeks.
Any comments anyone?
I can see very few comments compared to couple of weeks back, looks like everyone got their visas.
