Citizenship Blues
Dear Sir,

I am a South African, resident in Swaziland for 32 years. My husband for 20 years and my daughter of 18 years who was born here in Swaziland. 14 years ago we applied for citizenship which was granted in July this year (2013). However, the Citizenship status is still unclear. We cannot obtain Swazi I.D's, Passports etc, as we have not yet given up our South African Citizenship. We do understand that this might be the law of the country which I respect. I would like to know if there is any way that we could have dual citizenship? As we are not happy to give up any one. I have two Swazi children from a previous marriage to a Swazi Citizen. My husband and I are also active in charity work. I have recently been appointed Amazing Woman Network's Ambassador to Swaziland where we are handing out scholarships to deserving students. The citizenship problem is hindering my progress in this field. I am appealing to the South African High Commissioner to help us.

yours Sincerely

BERNADINE COETZER
