NON PAYMENT OF SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZEN WORKING IN MALAWI
Dear Sir Madam,
I would just like to find out if there is anything we can do about my sons salary that was not paid to him for 4 months
While working for Martin Christiaan Matthee, he took my son to Malawi with promises of a job in Blantyre for Nunes Paint
That he had a contract with, after working there for 2 months and till this month he kept telling them that Nunes Paint did not pay him.
He was promised R15000.00 a month, and R300 a days living out fees, after that they did other jobs for the same Indian man at Nunes Paints,
They put in CCTV cameras for this business.
He was given food at night and a roof over his head and that’s it, the Businessman he worked for Martin Christiaan Matthee
Bought a tin of Bullybeef 6 eggs and a loaf of bread (for 4 employees)at night after they had worked and off course lots of alcohol, and when he was drunk
Swore, insulted and assaulted my son.
My sons name is Duncan Barnard.
He was told by this guys its ok you just go through the border as a visitor, and then every month he sent a driver with their passport to the border to get them stamped again.
Is this legal and what can my son do about it, I even had to buy him a bus ticket back to South Africa as the employer said he did not have money, but this is a lie,
He was on the bus for 36 hours and was not even given money to buy food.
This guy is a big bull and lies to all.
Any help from your side would be appreciated, if you can help me I would get more information for you as I believe he is going to work at some crocodile park from next month,
Were he has also organized a job for my son.
My son has the details, I think he is also illegally in Malawi, he sends a driver every month to have the passport stamped at the border, out and in again.
This is also a money making racket.
Kind regards
Lorna
