Mistreatment
I applied for a visa, it took two weeks to secure response I received a call two days after the event I was going to attend that my visa was ready. Many of my colleagues have gone through similar nasty experiences. I lost my $61 for a visa that was no longer useful. I lost money for the ticket as well. Isn't that robbery? How do you expect me to travel after the event? Why then don't you consider refunding someones hard earned cash?? Why? Why?
The new Commissioner seems not to understand and appreacite why people travel. The reasons are always clearly stated in the application forms and attachments. Review them and provide prompt response other than terrorizing people with queuing up as early as 3am and and at the end you don't even issue the visa. y guards are equally arrogant. The securitWe are appalled and tired of your bureaucracy and mistreatment please.

Mistreatment
I was amazed by the South Africa's High Commissioner's response to complaints by Hon. MPs and Ugandans. She was even smiling as if it was an exciting moment. The reasons given were completely vague and did not address the real issues. The High commissioner is till hidden and locked up in the apartheid era. There isn't much we need from SA..its not heaven. Why don't you learn from UK or US embassies -Enough is enough, please style up.

visa days
I have read all your comments, but the issues that need to be addressed are as follows;
1. RAS don't need to make Ugandans (Africans)queue outside the gate, when the seats inside are empty.

2.Does the Embassy need 10 days to think, whether to give you a Visa or not. Ugandan visas are issued at the airport on arrival and it takes less than 30 min.

3. Their airline is flown empty, because of the issues with the embassy. People have lost morale.

4. The government has been coming to the rescue of their airline because of inefficiencies in the system.

AFRICANS IS FOR ALL OF US I DON'T KNOW WHY WE ARE TREATED AS BEGGERS TO TRAVEL TO SOUTH AFRICA

VISA PROCESS
I regret to tell you that your high commission has the worst visa processing in the entire world.
Why do you treat us like that? Please note that we ( applicants) contribute to the growth of your economy when we visit your country.
It should be noted that some of us don't even chose to come voluntarily to South Africa but rather our work commitments force us to visit your country.
It should be also noted that you are also plying your trade from our country and we are very hospitable.
This is the very reason as to why African countries never develop coz we are mean to our own very people. You can never find such stringent measures being applied by Europeans amongst themselves because they hinder growth and development.

CHANGED
In the past 4 years i have been to or transited through SA several times but acquiring their VISA was never a nightmare like it is today.Has management changed? What went wrong? We could come in smoothly, off course after being careful checked and we submitted the required documents without a hassle or those unnecessarily long lines. The staff and security then were cultured. What went wrong?

For example why should a person transiting through SA be given that much headache? Are you really thinking about what this could mean economically for your country? In fact despite all the problems with KQ,IF KQ could just begin operating in the region, or if another airline came in, your already struggling airline could go down!!Be wise!!!! Honestly, You can take strict measures without being out rightly HOSTILE.

Delays
Adding on to what every one has said, I would like to tell you that we do not create our own invite. Some of us work for companies with different branches in the world. One thing for sure is one may be given a week or two's notice to get to another country Like SA, or sometimes just require a transit visa through SA and one is delayed for weeks. Please these are issues that can easily be handled and not cause all that unnecessary delays.

Another thing is that of making Lines outside the gate, lives me wondering, what happened to hospitality. Just get someone to sit and wait at the shade inside, is that very difficulty? If one of your people was treated like that, would you like it?

Train your staff particuarly the security personnel. The different persons they handle are adults and know what they want. there is no need to bark at someone, and try to soloist money from them.

If that is hard, get another company to provide security, and train them on customer care. by the time i come to get a permit or Visa, am a customer/client coz i pay for your services

Thanks for the wonderful work that you do ove rVISA
Thanks for your dedication towards your South African High Commission in Uganda. What people need to know is that any country needs to know who is entering their country. That is why you need to be ready to wait for your VISA with the given time. Dear Ugandans just make sure that you have got all the need documentation. and the VISA is there for you. Keep up the good work.SA
