Guys, your best bet would be to engage with people like Julius Malema, Lloyd Shivambu and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi on Twitter, as they are quite vocal and can get attention to this matter.
Their twitter handles are:
@Julius_S_Malema
@FloydShivambu
@MbuyiseniNdlozi
@EFFSouthAfrica
Home Affairs is as slow on Twitter as they are with processing our applications.
#SAVisaZim sounds like a good hashtag.
Masiyeni macomrade. We will lose nothing except our data.
@Tatenda, if your other permit expires, you can only apply for the study permit in your home country.
Study permits in the past were taking 3 weeks, but I applied early Nov and was told this week to come back after 2 weeks..making it 6 weeks. Hopefully it'll be out earlier.
I like the Twitter idea. Let's use #SAVisaZimbabwe and tweet our concerns to @SAHomeAffairs. They seem to respond quicker
So you now also have to apply for study permit ku Zim via VFS? Anyone with any clue how long it takes?
Hi @Manu, thanks for the response. I submitted on the 7th.
@Rue, google "vfs Zimbabwe" you will find the information there. Costs and requirements
Yes I agree...let's use twitter to voice this matter.
As for returning to Zimbabwe. Happy to be back and will try stay. However it's nice to have options.
The same way it's nice to have a UK and USA visa to travel at will. Most of us love our country but we arexpect moving towards global citizenship. Visas and travel need to be easier.
Thank you all... you're all so helpful.
Except some who spread wrong info. I applied for a visa whilexpires in zim. They kept my passport. So plan carefully.
Good luck
Where can I find information on the requirements and costs of applying for a study visa? Is there an official SA embassy in Zimbabwe website?
Do People still want to come to SA Id assume things are getting better in Zim going forward. I dont think its a train smash though anymore kushaya CSV. I think there is hope for Zim now.Thoughts? If you were based in Zim now would you still consider leaving?
Hi. You need to be registered as a Certificated Natural scientist with SACNASP if you want to apply for CSV in Zim. If you were applying in SA on another visa e.g ZSP they might accept.In Zim they will decline you if you are a candidate natural scientist so I suggest you upgrade your membership.
I know one lady who Twitted by then Minister of Home Affairs Malusi she got assistance
Its worth it
