Comments on this Consulate-General
In searching for an appointment, I have found that between 8.50 am and 8.55 am the appointments open. You have to be quick in booking one as they are taken up in a matter of minutes.
Hope this helps!
I am living and working in the UK on a Portuguese passport which I obtained in south Africa through my Father's side. I need to re-new it and have been trying hopelessly to get in touch with the London consulate to determine how to do this. Eventually getting fed up I spent my day off travelling there in the hopes that someone would help. I couldn't even get in the front door. Was just given a piece of paper with a web address on it to apply online for an appointment. After trying for three hours now I have given up. The place is an absolute embarrassment. It wasn't half as difficult applying in South Africa. Honestly something needs to be done, the website it useless, no one picks up the phone, emails are ignored... it's almost as if they don't want us to recognized!!!

I have been trying to make an appointment for the last 3 months for my children to obtain their ID cards and for passport renewals. Every single email I send to the Consultate comes back with an online link appointment WHICH DOES NOT WORK!!! I have been trying to call the Consulate in London and kept holding on the phone for 1 hour and still spoke to no-one. My children cannot travel out of the UK as they have no travel documents and this is a basic human right therefore WHY can I not get an appointment!! If an appointment does not come through I will have no alternative but to travel to London with my two children which will cost me money but I will not leave the Consulate until someone sees me. I have been told by the Lisbon and Madeira Consulates that the Consulate in London is one of the worst in the world!! Now I know why!!!!
Email address guidamccourt@gmail.com just to enquire if anyone knows how to get id card renew in Manchester does anyone have their email address or phone number thanks
Where and how can I renew id card I been trying to contact the embassy and with no joy after 2weeks and numerous emails sent and I haven't heard anything back.
Can anyone tell me what or where to go and sort this out because I live in northern Ireland.thanks
I am Portuguese citizen, living and working and UK from last 3 years. My passport is expiring soon and I have been trying to book an appointment online from last 8 weeks and the online link doesn’t show any available appointment at all, even I have tried flickering the dates up until one year but no appointment. I have phoned the Portuguese embassy many times but they are asking to book online. Last week I went to Portuguese embassy London and they didn’t give me any appointment and asked me to go back and book it online and then come back on the date of appointment. I live 75 miles away from central London and it costs me £70 to get to London by public transport in peak time.
I have now finally booked the ticket to go to Lisbon to get this done because I have given up with Portuguese Embassy London. They are really useless and lazy. There example is just like the tail of dog which can never be straightened.
Having been invited to Portugal day we are coming from Liverpool so need to know the nearest railway station with connections to Liverpool
