Sad news for the goans opting for portuguese passport the FRO has been moved to mumbai, further delaying the surrender of indian passport to one and a half month.
Sorry noticed the innumerable typo errors in my msg. First your church issues the birth or marriage Certificate, then Arch bishops house needs to attest it. Thereafter you get it attested at the Bombay High Court. From there you head to The registrar's office at mantralaya. He checks the stamps of the church, the arch bishops stamp and the court attestation and puts his stamp. From there you go three four floors above to the home department they again check all the stamps and give the final attestation. So five attestations. This certificate is now valid across the world and is a government certified document. MEA will now attest your document as it's no longer a "church" document but a government document and you have the home Dept of Maharashtra stamp seal and signature to prove it. All this took me two hours to complete. The archbishop house, court, mantralaya and home department are at a walking distance to each other. The mantralaya registrar and home office are in the same bldg now, one on the 8th floor and 13th floor. But this is only for Bombay Births and marriages.
Hi Savio.
Mantralaya and home department. First three church issues the Certificate, then Arch bishops house attests it. Then the narrate registrar's office at mantralaya attests it and thereafter the home department attests it. So four attestations. The home department is part of the MEA.

Man, first of all your agent is cent per cent right. Your grandparents birth and marriage document is required by CRC to establish the identity of your father who was born before 1961. In the absence of these documents you will have to submit an old document issued by the then ruling portuguese authority which can be viagem, cedulla or anything which identifies your father.
Please send me your contact details on trinityinternational2017@gmail.com and will call you.

My father and mother was born before 1960 in goa. But an agent told me I will need my grandparents birth and marriage certificate. My question is if my parents were born in Goa before 1960 why do I need grandparents cert and were to find it.
1. Children sent to Portugal? Since when?
2. The effectiveness of application success is not based on your agent, but the availability and accuracy of your documents.

Thanks for sharing the contact details, I just submitted all my papers yesterday to Mr.Keith Fernandes for Bishop house, Mantralaya and MEA attestation.
Genuine guy and charges were pretty reasonable compared to other agents in Goa and Mumbai, who are charging a bomb and taking advantage of us Goans and ripping us off, most of us who are spending all our life's savings to get our children to Portugal, so at least they have a decent future.
Thanks and God Bless.
Fiona
