Well said 'the real Ezequiel'! It is precisely because of fraudsters and mischief mongers impersonating genuine people that so many well wishers and advisers stopped posting and vanished from this forum. I feel they should be ignored henceforth and will hopefully disappear on their own.

Ezequiel
Hi Ezequiel, I'm really sorry you feel the way you do about people from Goa and Daman. I'm sure you are not the first or only person to feel this way. To the outside world there is no reason why we should be given citizenship but our relationship with Portugal runs long and deep. We may not all speak the language but language alone cannot be a criteria for citizenship. I wish you all the best.

To everyone.honourable
I'd suggest everyone honourable here seeking for genuine assistance on this forum to please avoid responding to miscreants like Ezequiel (From Mozambique) or whoever he is, who's likely to be the same hooligan who's been impersonating other genuine people here (unfortunately and unexpectedly, including myself). You can learn a lot by a person's behaviour and conduct.

Remember, it takes two to make an argument. Making one argument to this person would just flare him up to make another argument.

Saudades,
Com os melhores cumprimento

Jack
Jack, that's a good point. Technically, after liberation, all Goans were defaulted to an Indian citizenship whether they liked it or not. The Portuguese citizenship process for Goans offered by Portugal merely makes an ancestral connection with those born before sixty one, who were considered Portuguese by Portugal. Once their birth is registered in Portugal, whether India denies it or not, they're Portuguese citizens. Then once their children are registered, they become Portuguese through this route as well. Their children can become citizens because the parent then was Portuguese also.

Sanzio
Sanzio, I don't know of any barristers in Bombay to help you in your case. You'd have to come to Goa or make some sort of arrangement with a barrister in Goa and likely post your documents if that barrister agrees. Your best option is to come to Goa.

Maria
Maria, marriage registration takes about two months. I'm not sure about death registration as I've not done that in our process on account of my father still being alive. But I presume it shouldn't take long as well, maybe give or take three or four months or so. So for both processes combined, it should take in total about six or seven months (give or take).

Sanzio
Your third process shouldn't take too long.

I can suggest Emerico/ Elvino Pereira if you're in Goa. Here's their website link: http://goanportuguesepassport.com/

If you're in Portugal or the UK, you can contact their partner: https://www.npadvogados.com/

I hear Bernardo Reis is good as well, though he's in Portugal:

Details maybe found in their respective websites.

To Ezequiel
Speaking Portuguese doesn’t make you Portuguese. There are over two hundred million Brazilians speaking Portuguese. They don’t get nationality do they ?

By your logic the child of two Portuguese citizens born in the US who grew up there and only speaks English wouldn’t be eligible for citizenship. But someone from Mozambique would ?

If you’re referring to ethnicity then the only “real” Portuguese are White European Caucasians. Neither Africans nor Goans regardless of citizenship can be considered ethnically Portuguese.
