Birth place error
Good morning all,

My mother is the principal applicant (pre nineteen sixty one). I have submitted my mothers documents for birth/marriage/death registration at the CRC.  On her birth teor, baptism certificate and other Portuguese original docs, her place of birth is listed as Anjuna, Bardez Goa, which is correct. Now on her Indian passport(which is expired and was submitted along with the application as proof of ID) states Mupsa as her place of birth. Her place of residence was Mupsa as she was married in Mupsa. Anjuna is a totally separate parish from Mupsa.

Would this cause a problem? Her passport was the only Indian ID documentthat we had. Any help and guidance is appreciated.

Thanks and God bless,

Maria

Bom dia, espero que esta mensagem o encontre de boa saúde.

Since June twenty seventeen cases are in the process of being checked, you should expect something in another one or two months maximum. It's nearing registration, provided everything is in order, so don't lose hope.

Sim, once my birth is registered, I'll be going to Portugal mainly to get my citizen card, passport, surrender my Indian citizenship, meet my barristers, and a few Portuguese friends I've made. Thereafter, embark to the UK.

Saudades,
Com os melhores cumprimento,
Ezekiel

To my knowledge, the agent or barrister is obligated to give you the process number of the case. You could try contacting the CRC in Portuguese only, to find out, by giving the name of the person to be registered, but they're likely to not give you the number as the power of attorney would have been given to your barrister or agent. They may give such information to your power of attorney being that he/she would be representing your case.

Rebecca, Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and also the location of the main registry office dealing with birth registrations of the populace. So, to my knowledge, there isn't any other region in the world where such registrations are executed.

If you mean checking out the status of birth registration of Goans to the CRC of Lisbon - there used to be the website feature of the consulate general of Portugal in Goa website, which sadly is no longer present on his current website. If you want to find out the status, you would have to contact the CRC personally via email in Portuguese if you don't have a barrister representing you, otherwise they may not give you the details.

Re: Para Ezekiel
Bom dia Ezekiel,

Glad to hear from you and know that your process is in the final stages, parabens!
That’s also cool that you are planning on heading to Portugal. A lot of good food in Portugal. Lisboa will make you feel nostalgic. The architectural similarities, the way of life, so many fine things that will draw you back in time, with Goa. I remember Goa in the early eighties....A vida que tivemos! Eu faltar da cidade de goa.

Thanks for the info on VPN etc. this is good info. Wasn't really aware that there was a secure way to got on the WWW.....

I had submitted my father’s documents in Junho, vinte e dezessete and till date there's absolutely no word from the powers to be, although I had provided three original documents issued by republica Portuguesa as part of the entire package at the time of submission. The law firm in Lisboa would do regular follow-ups, but the powers to be just refuse to provide any status update.

Tome cuidado e continuamos em contacto.

Stay well my friend.

Saudades,

File Number
I too would like to know how to find file number not given by the agent, just as I saw a message in the group.
