I agree with you. The wait times have become unacceptably long. I couldn’t find a specific EU law with regards to issuing an ID card within a specific timeframe but a lawyer would understand this better. What help do you want is it financial or something else ?

Delay in appointment at Goa Consulate
We are contemplating legal action against goa consulate for depriving our right to apply for citizen card and passport of nearly one yr wait period after birth registration

We demand to revert back the service on first come serve basis and this long wait period is against human rights convention for depriving the legal right of citizen card and passport within specified service
Imagine if one has to travel for studies.employment or medical service do one have to wait one long yrs this is stupid just unacceptable
I would be meeting lawyers in lisbon to seek legal action against Goa Consulate action
For this i need support from you all people here to so that the consulate people come to senses

New Post Covid Timeframe Guidelines from the Central Registry
The Central Registry in Lisbon has issued new guidelines regarding the time taken to process cases post Covid.
Here’s a translation of what they’ve issued,

- For adults, it must now be pursuant to twenty four to twenty nine months, from the delivery of the request of nationality to the final registration of nationality, for requests which present soon all the necessary documents and the correctly completed request. About nine to eleven months of preparation result from the delivery of the application and the beginning of the analysis, the analysis and their diligences have a normal duration of nine to twelve months and the final decision and the registration occur six to eight months after finalizing the analysis. These deadlines will be longer if the process is not complete and correct from the beginning and it is necessary to ask for complementary documentation. Children's orders, children of Portuguese Father or Portuguese Mother and declared directly by the parents, are treated with priority, so the time of analysis and decision can last between two to four months.
