Hi Denzil,
On my Mother's Nascimento and Casamento her first name is 'Christina' ending with 'A' whereas on my Baptism certificate it is 'Christine' ending with an 'E'
Will that be a problem? If so how do I address that?
Pls advise.
Thanks
Rolan

Regarding Birth Registration after 1961
Guy

I found on this site regarding many people are worried about their process after 1961 i will tell you about my case

I had i filed my registration of birth of June 1985 in year June 2016 with all my name parents name matching with the marriage and my passport

Further to make more easier because of fraud identity i had attached Aadhar card copy as well all attested by Goa Portuguese Consulate My Aadhar card hard copy was issued in year 2011 and all details was matching as per the details mentioned on my Birth Certificate and Passport This was done to ensure the documents are genuine and there is no possibility of fraud

My Birth registration process was likely to be completed by Jan 2017 however was not completed as CRC had send me the letter stating to appoint me the new lawyer as the previous lawyer appointed by my Friend in Goa might have been blacklisted by CRC

I had submitted the fresh Power of Attorney appointing to the fresh lawyers and the POA was submitted in the First week of Feb 2017 soon after the 6 days i got the update from my lawyer in second week of Feb 2017 that CRC as given my Birth registration date on 16 March 2017

Actually on this date your lawyer has to be present for hearing with CRC official for any objection raised during the Registration your lawyer is responsible to defend the case if it is genuine

You Birth was register without and hassle 16 march 2017 and i got the copy of my birth on the same day got the which was told to me before one month 15 Feb 2017
I was lucky enough because my Birth was verified online and was issued my Panjim Municipality,However few of my colleague who applied before me their process is still not completed

My Process was completed within 10 months but which was delayed because of Fresh Power of Attorney requested by CRC
Hope this understand you people how the things actually work at CRC

Regards

Karol

Most agents have lots of cases so they can't give individual attention to everyone.
Apostille is quite easy, you don't need to go to Delhi, in Mumbai VFS does it in under a week.
You can contact Travco in Goa, I think they also do it but unsure about the timeframe. You'll need to attest it from the church first, then notarise etc. Travco should know the procedure.
Also, your parents names in your baptism should be exactly as per their names in the casamento. Also don't forget the page of the book.
Translate both and send them for apostille together along with the translations. The translations should also be apostilled.

Hi Denzil,
Thanks for your prompt response.
Wonder why the agent doesnt advise rather than act so ignorant.
I was not asked to submit a Baptism certificate but yes I do have it as I believe Churches maintain a better record log than the Registrar.
How do i get the Baptism Certificate apostilled? Should i be present there or anyone can do it on my behalf?

A baptism should work provided its attested by the church and apostilled. Also get a copy of the page from the church records and get that attested by the church, then apostilled. That should solve your problem.

Hi,
Does anyone know what is the process if Birth Registrar has responded to the Portugal Consulate that Birth Certificate is Non Traceable for verification?
My agent says he doesn’t know as its not his job to check on the verification process.
I was born in 1966 and registered in Mapusa Registrar but records not available as book was destroyed. Based on the old original Birth Certificate I had with me, I did an affidavit n I was issued a new birth certificate but the old Register number was mentioned. I had submitted my process thru an agent in Jul 2016 to CRC and when it was sent for verification within 6 months to Mapusa Registrar in Dec 2016, they responded as ‘Non Traceable’ as the old Register book does not exist. Its 8 months now and my agent was not aware of this until i had it checked with Mapusa Registrar who informed that there are several Non Traceable cases which I don’t think the agent are informing the clients on time.
My Agent says he will not follow up but I have to wait for Portugal to analyze and respond or find a new agent.
Please advise on what I should be doing next.
Thanks
Denzil
