Dear sir
i am living in Tamilnadu Indian nationality going to marry a french girl how to option Certificat de Coutume
in tamilnadu can i prepare Affidavit of law and customs and how to prepare ??? please help me
Madam,
Please send to me a copy of the mail received from the prefecture by your husband. Then only I can verify your statement and give you suitable advice.
Ny address: No, 85 Easwaran Darnaraja koil street, Puducherry-60500l, India. Cell No. 9843648646. Yours sincerely.
My husband working in france has applied for family reunification visa for me residing in India. He has received a mail from prefecture, stating that the visa has positive outcome and I will receive a mail from Pondicherry embassy very shortly, for issuing the visa. It's more than a month now and I haven't received any mail from Pondicherry embassy. Can you please tell me, when can I expect the mail? Your reply will help me a lot. Thanks in advance.
Sir, Please read the reply to the question of Mr.Divyanathan given recently in this site. It will be useful to you.
Further, in your case, you have not mentioned the date and place of your birth. Your father was born in 1920 in Thirunallar(Karaikal) and has expired in l955 ie. before 16.08.1962, date of coming into force of the Franco indian treaty of cession, 1956. As for your mother, she was born in Nellithope, Pondicherry, in 1928. If your mother has subscribed the declaration of option between 15.08.1962 and 15.2.1963 she would have conserved french nationality. On 16.8.1962 if you were a minor of 18 years, and born in French India your mother should have included your name when making her statement of option. If you were born outside of Fr. India prior to 16.08 1962, the question of option does not arise and you are a French national. To conclude I state that among renoncants of personal status in Fr, India, those who made optinn statement required under Franco Indian treaty 1956 have become fullfledged french nationals and those who failed to make option have lost their french nationality and became Indians. But they are still governed by french civil code, because under Fench decret, the renunciation of personal status is irrevocable. Yours sincerely
Sir,
My father (Antonie) was born in 1920, Karaikal (Thirunalor) and he had served to french in, Pondicherry, Yanam & also in Karaikal between 1940 to 1960. His father & also my grandfather (Marie Divy) who also worked in Karaikal during the period of (1915-1945) and have voted in French elections. He died in 1955 and in that death certificate they have mentioned that he was renounced person.
My mother was born in 1928, Nelitope, Pondicherry whose father (Sandanasaamy) also served in Military in (1914-1920) and was receiving pension fund and voted in French Elections. His name was renounced during 1895 by his father (Arogiyasamy).
Both my parents (Antoine & Oubagarmarie) got married in 1943 and registered French marriage certificate and registered livret de famille. But failed to register my name in it.
I have all the related documents of my grandparents proving that they were French citizen. Can I apply for French Nationality? If so, what are procedures need to be followed?
Warm Regards,
Paneer Selvam
Sir, I have peused your matter. You wish to get french nationality certificate. But you have not stated how you are eligible to get the same. CNF can be asked only by persons who conserve french nationality. You must study the Franco indian treaty of cession, 1956, in particular the provisions about conserving and losing the french nationality, This topic has been already discussed several times in this site. Kindy go through them.
Yours sincerely.
Sir,
My grandfather & his grandfather have served in french government. They both had nationality & also voted in 1910 elections. I don't have their nationality document as my grandmother lost it & also failed to register my father in family card. But have their work service gazettes & other proofs mentioned below:
Documents I have:
1) My Grandfather's father Work Service (Gazette Copy)
2) My Grandfather's father Voted Proof (1910 Election Copy Vote Proof), birth certificate, death certificate.
3) My Grand Mother's father's military service (1914-1920 record)
4) My Grandfather's father Voted Proof (1910 Election Copy Vote Proof 1925), birth certificate, renunciation death certificate.
5) My Grandfather's Police Work Service (Gazette Copies)
6) My Grandparents Marriage Certificate (Original)
7) Original Copy of french family card of my Grandparents & their birth certificates & death certificates.
Could I get nationality for me with this relevant certificates? Is this is enough or do I need to provide more certificates.
Waiting for your reply!
Divyanathan
Sir, The person I referred under the name of NALLAM is a native of Yanam, After his return from France he got employed in Ponidherry administration. He worked for some in Karaikal court and then he was transferred to Yanam where he worked as driver in Health department. He is related to Dr. Nallam who is running with his fmily members a clinic in Pondicherry. It is opposite to my residence,in Easwaran Darmaraja koil street, Pondicherry,
Now I come to your matter. If your grandfther in question is no more, his matter is over. If you want to have as souvernir the copies of his lost service records as volunteer for France Libre, you can find out the address of service quarters in the service records of your late grandfather's friend and then write to the said address.
Thanks for your response, My grandfather is no more but We have a copy of the Service certificate of his friend who serviced with him (Late. Mr. Coudoupoudy palaya), can we proceed with the documents that we have and it will be useful to us if you can provide any contact address of the person you have mentioned (Nallam) in your comment
Thanking you,
Regards,
Devaraju .I
