Contacting the Consulate
I have tried five times this morning to contact you and each time the call cuts off this is not only frustrating but expensive I have also tried E mail to no avail so I deduce that if you want advice it is necessary to make a long car journey to atttend in person very helpful

SIP cards
Last week my friend was treated at Torrevieja hospital for skin cancer. He went to the salud at Cabo Roig to have the stitches out and was told his SIP card was invalid and he had to get a E121 or S1 and apply for a new card. The date of issue was June 2007. My local farmacia told me there is an expiry date for the cards but did not know how long the cards last. I am worried that if we have to be admitted to hospital how do we know if the card is still valid.

Presription charges
The Agencia Valenciana De Salut has produced a document regarding the new prescription charges they are imposing from the 1st July, which is unfortunatly in Castilian and Valenciano. It would be useful if this document was translated into English so not just the English can get to understand what is happening but also various other nationalities who have a good understaing of English. Unfortunatly mst of the pharmacies dont seem to have much understanding of this document and many of the GPs are not up to date or are keeping the information under wraps. As of to date it all appears to be very vague as to what the Agencia are requesting us to pay.Perhaps you may be able to shed some light on this. KInd Regards

Medical prescription charges
There is a suggestion that medical prescription charges are shortly to be introduced in Spain. Can we assume that expatriates are excluded from this since their own governments pay for their care.
