Renewal of machine readable passport
I went to renew my machine readable passport on the 20th September and from the moment I entered the office everyone was kind, courteous and helpful to me. The officers looked and were very professional. I had a wonderful experience. The one drawback is that when you call the office no one answers but I guess they are "short~staff." Keep up the good work.

Staffing problems
Does anyone know if live people actually work in the Miami Embassy? It seems you cannot get past the automated messages to a real person. I called the New York office hoping for a better result. Using the appropriate extension I got the usual message from some guy named Harrington who wants you to leave a message. That would not be so bad if they actually returned your call, but they don't.

law suit in progress
Listen I have been in every1's shoes. If u want answers call Trinidad. If u cant do that, call the embassy then dial ext.1103 (that's the boss extension). Im taking them to court for theft among other things. do not give up.. keep pushing!! That NY embassy is filled with uneducated fools. They dont even follow their own policies.. thats why im suing them. It took me 8mths to get my passport (thats because I called 3 times a week.) U have to be determined. Call Trinidad if you have to 1868 625 8467 Olive Garcia ext 2033.... Thank me later.

am a citizen of USA and also a Professor
The Trinidad Embassy is run by racists unqualified Indians. Some of them don't even know to spell their name. Look at the employees; all of them are indians and even the Consulate General had issues with black people which was exposed on the Trinidad newspapers this new government Trinidad has gone to the Dogs, with unqualified people as Ministers.abuse of Finances. When this PPP is out of power the indians would be rich from theft with Kamla at the helm. All these people are not qualified Am a citizen and I love USA because laws are obeyed and even the president could be jailed if he is an embezzler as the PPP.After the next elections PNM should jail all the Ministers who thief and throw away the keys.

Waiting For Computerized Birth Certificate
I applied in May 2014 for a computerized birth certificate, as required by th NIB for easy processing of retirement benefit. I have been waiting ever since for an email response that my documents were either received, being processed or any other factor that may or may not affect or caused delay in processing, and that I can forward to the National Ins. Board as proof of activity. To this date, no response. But having read some of the comments here and other places of the lengthy delay in processing, I guess I should have some hope.
It is very sad, however, that in this age of super fast technological systems with massive data transfer capabilities, that anyone should have to wait any lomger than two weeks maximun for any computer generated document. I strongly believe, that the citizens of T&T should be better served/treated..
