dual citizenship
I am a citizen of the U.S. but married in Mexico to a mexican that is serving time in prison of 1 yr. for being in the U.S. without permission. We were once married in the U.S also. He had gotten in a lot of trouble here and ultimately lost permission to be here, as we fought for 6 years to try and get him residency. I divorced him 2 weeks prior to his visa. how do I get dual citizenship for myself. I need to travel back and forth allowing me to leave my vehicle in his name in Mexico, and bring items to live more enjoyable.

More Leona Vicario
On June 24th, 2011, we were also shaken down for speeding over the topes (not true - we drive slow, but had a THRIFTY plate and are gringos) in Leona Vicario. My spanish-speaking wife debated with him for quite some time, and we eventually paid the 200 peso (~$18) "fine", after refusing to pay 1500 or 700. In retrospect, we should have asked to be taken to the police station, but we weren't sure how deep the corruption goes!
He was on a motorcycle, but we did see his name.
We try to just say that it is part of the adventure, but it leaves a very bad impression that there are people in positions of public trust that are blatantly corrupt.

What type of documents do I need to bring my dog into Mexico.
I want to bring my golden retriever into Mexico in June because I am moving there. I wanted to fly into Mexico to Merida but at that time of year the weather will be to high to fly him so we will have to drive him across the border. Please let me know what I will need. Thank you.

Robbed by Policeman named "J. Marquez"
My friend and I rented a car in Cancun to drive to Chichen-itza. On our way back to Cancun we missed the toll road (not clearly marked as one is 180 and the other is 180 D). We drove through MANY, MANY towns full of very nice people.

in Leona Vicario (I believe) the last town before Cancun heading toward Cancun from Chichen-itza we were pulled over while ON a speed bump (yes it was that large) as other cars had been passing us all along- we refused to speed.

A police officer named "J. Marquez" pulled along side of us on a scooter and motioned for us to pull over. He then said, "ticket or no ticket". We said, "no ticket, thank you...why were we pulled over? He said that we were speeding. *we were going VERY slow* . We thanked him and he then said that we had to give him money. We didn't have much and we asked him how much he needed. He said, "one thousand pesos".

My friend who was driving was trembling and all I could see was his name tag which said, "J. Marquez".

He pointed at our purses then motioned with his finger to open them...after that he motioned with his index finger as if to say, "come here" then kept pointing at the cash in our wallets...I handed over 700 pesos and had some American money in my wallet as well. He motioned for me to give him that. I said, "are you kidding me?" He motioned again and since I don't speak Spanish I had no idea what he said.

We gave him almost one hundred dollars total between pesos and American dollars.

I am POSITIVE that he saw the rental car sticker on the car, me looking at maps and my blond hair.

To allow this to go on is a crime! I am telling EVERYONE that I know and posting on EVERY SITE! I am in the media business and I assure you that this will be all over.

I will NEVER come to Mexico again unless something is done and my money is returned to me!!
