Comments on this Consulate-General
I contacted the consulate by email for info about taking my dogs back into Mexico. I had a reply on Monday morning
Upon arrival to the makeshift outdoor tent where people show up at 3am just to secure a slight chance of getting anything done that day, you are either politeley turned away for not setting up an appointment, or curtly ushered to the end of an immense line. All the while being talked down to by mexican officials whose oath is to herd and to dissapoint. Upon finally entering the building, more lines. No information. No helpful website. No employees who actually want to help their countrymen. I arrived at 7am and left at 5 pm with nothing more than a "Sir, that's not the way things work. Please schedule another appointment the next time you feel like wasting a whole day. And don't forget to have everything we require to complete your request, because it is not in our job description to lift a finger to help you".
I spent 2:00 hrs. in a line today trying to renew my passport, only to find out when I finally got to the counter that I didn't have the complete documentation "the rules have changed now" They could have an information kiosk, or a web-site that actually provides information, or maybe a phone line that a person would answer instead of a recording saying "they are too busy" but that would be to much to ask from a Mexican government office
Not all of us that need the Mexican Consulate or their website speak and read Spanish. It would be nice if it were available in English, too.
