ZAMBIANS TAX PAYERS ARE TO PAY MORE AS TAZAMA CHANGES ENGINES
Though Mr. Mzodya is trying to make this issue political by implicating the late presidents, still the decision made by the two bosses to buy the new engines will cost the tax payers dearly. The issue is more technical than political and the idea that TAZAMA would have not been around today without Muzelenga and Kikula is a fallacy.TAZAMA has been into existence since 1968 and the 'duo' assumed offices in early 2000.Fine,when their time to go ripens they will go honourably and humbly as you said but they will leave behind serious problems and that is why they were struggling to hand over their offices to relatives and friends to normalize issues.

...'The guys, Muzelenga (CEO) and Kikula (DOE) have TAZAMA at heart'...What do you mean ? You can fool people outside TAZAMA but not inside TAZAMA.

ZAMBIANS TAX PAYERS ARE TO PAY MORE AS TAZAMA CHANGES ENGINES
Though criticisms are being levelled against TAZAMA management in this forum, the company has faired very well compared with other companies like TAZARA which is ailing due to mismanagement. TAZAMA has managed to maintain its worn-out pipelines and obsolete engines for the last fifteen years when Africa Development Bank pulled out from financing rehabilitations. The guys, Muzelenga (CEO) and Kikula (DOE) have TAZAMA at heart and have made bold decisions to ensure TAZAMA is up and running to deliver crude oil to Zambia, such as the current rehabilitation works to replace the pipeline and its engines and without these two, TAZAMA would not been around today. Between 1999-2001, Chiluba almost literally killed the pipeline but was saved by Mwanawasa, who listened to the advise from these same guys you criticise. When their time to go ripens, I am sure they will go honourably and humbly. Past and present members of the TAZAMA board of directors have done great, and the employees have worked in harmony with mgt. Let us stop this malicious mongering and be factual. The new engines will add value to TAZAMA and ensure efficient, uninterrupted and effective delivery of crude oil to Zambia.

'Thanks to a new TAZAMA board comprising of capable and energetic young men on Zambia side'.In fact, we used to see hungry board members or rather beggars who were treated by TAZAMA bosses like eggs. They get what they wanted at any time.Generally speaking, the board members were another burden to this company. It is our hope that a new board will be committed and take the right direction. We do not need beggars.

ZAMBIANS TAX PAYERS ARE TO PAY MORE AS TAZAMA CHANGES ENGINES
last board meeting held in Dar es salaam, Mr. Chacha of Mbeya station was rushed to Dar es salaam to meet the energy and mineral PS purposely to assist the two bosses,MD and DOE to have their contracts extended. It is said Mr. Chacha is related to Mr.Maswi on tribal basis. This is another shame of the year. The mission was abortive and thanks to a new TAZAMA board comprising of capable and energetic young men on Zambia side.
One has suggested to overhaul the company but that is not enough as long as the bad elements on the remaining senior management will have strong influence in the system. The government is supposed to take more measures and establish how TAZAMA can be run to ensure that new TAZAMA will survive longer than the past 40 years of its existence. We need people who love zambia .

ZAMBIANS TAX PAYERS ARE TO PAY MORE AS TAZAMA CHANGES ENGINES
True ,the guys are thieves. In fact the initial plan was to hand over the company to relatives and friends of the two top bosses,MD and DOE.But it is even worse to see those relative and friends doing the same evils before taking up the offices. They don't follow company procedures and can misuse company properties without any fear. The government of zambia needs special eyes to deal with TAZAMA because the guys are tricky and corrupt. You can imagine one guy supposed to retire two years ago at Mbeya is kept on contract by the two bosses just to clear their personnal effects at tunduma border.TRA and ZRA officials are in TAZAMA payroll. All past board members and even some ministers especially on zambia side can not deny this because they have benefited from such notorious deals downplayed by TAZAMA bosses.I THINK IT IS HIGH TIME NOT ONLY TO REMOVE THEM BUT TO OVERHAUL THE COMPANY.

LET INVESTIGATION BEGIN BEFORE THEY RETIRE
ZAMBIANS TAX PAYERS ARE TO PAY MORE AS TAZAMA CHANGES ENGINES
This matter needs proper investigation by the government because if what the writer says is true, then we tax payers are in for it.Siwingwa says it is theft, but from the calculations shown,it is more than theft. To me it is a calculated deal which involved top management in the decision making level together with board of directors.A big project like this without involving any consulting firm ? Suicide to our economy and shame to Zambia.
The investigation should be broad to cover all projects undertaken because i suspect more evils.
