Comments on this High Commission
I was adopted from the U.K. when I was 5. I have my original British Passport when I came. Can I use that to get another British Passport? Even though I have lived here all this time?
I cannot find information on-line regarding:
- having successfully been granted leave to enter in the past (based on UK ancestry / grandparents)
- this appeared in my Canadian passport which has since expired
- where can I find information as to
a) is there an expedited process to just renew my leave to enter (without having to dig up my grandparents' birth certificates and other related documents); or
b) do I have to start the whole process over again from scratch, as if applying for the first time?
I would be grateful if you could answer my question, or at least direct me to where I can find a clear answer. With appreciation.
Dear sir,
Kindly advise whether I need transit visa to UK in case I have the Canadian PR and traveling to Abu Dhabi and need to wait in the transit area for two hours before I proceed with my trip to Abu Dhabi .
Best regards

there seem to be millions of contacts, lots of telephone numbers, however, NEVER the correct one. I am a Canadian, with the right of abode in UK, and seem to go through this every time I have to renew my Canadian Passport, then, after receiving it, where to get an application form to get the Entitlement. It is so very frustrating.
British citizenship
I am trying to find out if I can apply for citizenship as I was born in 1967 in Canada, however both sets of grandparents were born in England. My parents were born in Canada in 1944-45. I am trying to understand the information on your citizenship site however I still need more info. I believe I am entitled to British citizenship due to my family and my date of birth however I would like to get a little more details if possible. I have my grandparent long form birth certificates and red passport, also my great grandfather medals from dying in WW1 while serving in British Forces. If you could help that would be Great.
My passport was lost/stolen and my family and I were travelling the nest day. Because of Mr. Malik's kindheartedness and his good nature and him not taking his break he was able to issue an emergency travel document within a extremely short period of time.I was thrn able to accompany my family onto our next destination. I salute him and may God bless him and his family and may he continue his good work. We certainly need more people like Mr. Malik in the world
