Will the British Embassy in Bogota apostillate a British birth certificate and divorce decree certificate?
I have applied for a family permit for my baby and I just wanted to know if I have to take him with me to Bogota's office when presenting the documentation and printed application form. If anyone knows the answer please let me know. I hate the idea of taking the baby on a long journey if this is not necessary.

UK Consular service and access has pretty much gone down the drain in Bogota and in many other countries over the past 3 years. (It used to be pretty good in Bogota). If it's a non visa issue my advice is to prepare for seeking assistance by other means including knowing your local police, medical & insurance providers, abogado, IRC Office or church contacts.
Don't rely on or expect much in the way of advice, assistance or communication from the Consulate as I believe most the people who used to do this are no longer there.
If it's a visa issue Good Luck & God Bless.
I had a serious problem with Bogota.Applied for a visa for my nephew(i am living in quito) and emailed worldbridge and they were not helpfull at all.
Fianlly rang bogotas local number and got lucky.
My problem is now being sorted out.
I guess they only work part time or as i found out from them from 8.30 until 11.30 and that is it.
Good luck people.
aaargh just read the above comments. so does anyone know who I call if I need consulate advice whilst visiting this country. i.e loss of passport, legal support.
