Comments on this Embassy
I recently phoned the British embassy in Bogota for some consular services. The reply was an automated call system telling me to leave my name and phone number and somebody will get in touch with me. Still waiting. I have no idea if I go in person if any body will be able to help me out or it will be a waste of time
My wife received a email from Bogota embassy after 2weeks of making a on line application..the email said you will SHORTLY be receiving a email with a answer..this was 3 weeks ago..I lived there and my wife here in the uk..now we have been apart for 3 months and are hearts ache to be with each other once again...also my wife had to travel from her home in bucaramanga,santander witch is 9 hours on a bus..and she was made to wait out side both times she has been..Its very sad to here my wife been treated like that by my loved country England..the place I was born and bread..and I have wrote 8 times and they only wrote back the second time i wrote..its as like the is no 1 there..!!
I share Patrick view of the loss of personal contact in the British Embassy in Bogota. Worse the embassy loss the british efficiency to be replaced by old fashion colombian burocracy of the wort kind.
Lets hope things change in the future.
I went to the Embassy the other day and I felt as if it had closed down. The lights were down in the public areas and sadly nobody to be seen. I feel as a British citizen living in a Global community that its purpose is to provide direct eye to eye contact with the host nation which sadly has been lost to be replaced by super sophisticated and over involved internet clutter.
