Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur
Last year I got a multiple entry non immigrant O visa based on my marriage to a Thai citizen from the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur. All pertinent information was listed on their website. This year I noticed that all reference to multiple entry non-immigrant O marriage visa has been deleted from their website, and the website is mostly only in Thai with very little in English and no option to translate it. The same goes for the Thai consulate in Penang. This is really absurd.

I then called the embassy in KL and asked about the non immigrant O visa based on marriage. I was told by an extremely rude Thai person that it was wrong for me to try to get such a visa and that I should just put 800,000 baht into an account so that I could take care of my wife and get a proper visa.

Then he told me that they know that 'there are many foreigners in Thailand who don't have money, and that they are on to them.' Without even letting me explain anything about my visa question, he concluded his angry tirade by saying "there is nothing more to talk about" and he simply hung up the phone on me.

It's time to move to another country!

Thai Embassy in Penang without ENGLISH ???
just visited the page http://www.thaiembassy.org/penang/ of the Thai Embassy/Consulate in Penang, Malaysia... That is a JOKE, isnt it???? There are some words in English but only SOME... no others except Thaipeople can read what the Embassy is doing and what kind of service they provide... I was planning to travel with my family in Thailand and Malaysia...but with this poor service the Thais provide here I will stick to Malaysia and Phillipines or Indonesia

hope they wake up sometimes...Myanmar is opening soon

Poor Service
I am from USA and was planning to go to Thailand because I heard a lot about Thai people and country and in this regard I had to contact the Thai consulate in New York for the information.I tried to reach the consulate and on few occassion I attempted to get someone but unfortunately nobody attended the phone and I was unable to get the information. I used to travel to India, Singapore, Malaysia etc and did not experience such a poor service at all but shocked to see the performace of Thailand. It is very discouraging and I think it is an insult and disrpect to Thai people by their own represnetives who work in the consulates oversease. If I am not wrong they are the Ambassador of the country and should set an example to build a strong image of their country. The service is very poor and in my opinion the Government of Thailand should should improve it by monitoring the performance of their staff installed in oversease consulates and embassies.

Non "O" visa
Hi, i have lived in Thailand for around 4yrs and for the last 3 yrs i have had new Non-Immigrant type "O" visa's (visiting friends, dont have sufficient funds deposited for Retirement visa)issued by Thai consulates in the UK, this of course means travelling to the UK each time i require renewal. Is it possible for this 12mth visa, based on the visiting friends criteria, to be issued by the Thai Consulate in Penang? Evidence of a Government pension can be produced. Im 67yrs old.

OA Visa
My husband and I had OA visas which run out because we were travelling in Europe. We would like to get new ones. The immigration in Samui told us we have to go to the Consulate in Penang for that. Is that possible? If yes, what documents do we need? Please advise us. We are now on tourist visas up to the end of July.

non immigrant visa O
To Lea Bedra:

you need your husband's copy of work permit, contract, marriage contract which is translated to Thai by a certified translator, letter of intent from your husband and a letter from his employer.

FYI: I'm a visa O holder.

I hope this will help
